“Central to everything in Madison”

You have certain expectations when staying at a Hilton and this facility meets all of them - smooth check-in, helpful and cheerful staff, clean and updated facilities, nice amenities.

King-sized bed on the 12th floor had a stunning view of the state capitol and a view of the lakes, adequate drawer space for a short stay and enough desk space and plugs to set up and get work done. While there was free wireless internet available from several unsecured networks, speeds varied considerably; the hotel charged $9.95 a day to plug into their high-speed network, exorbitant in this day and age. The bed was Hilton-comfortable but some may had trouble finding a pillow combination to suit them. It was nice to have a coffee maker with real mugs in addition to the standard foam cups.

The only real annoyances were in the bathroom - extremely dim lighting that made it hard to see what you were doing, and water that got quite warm but never really steamy hot; guess there's no hot water boiler on the 12th floor?

The on-site restaurant is a chain but has reasonable prices and a good selection of steak and seafood entrees; the bar is quite good for a hotel; a somewhat-pricey breakfast buffet is available every morning. As a bonus, there is a skywalk connecting the hotel to the Monona Terrace Conference Center across the street, so this is the place to stay if you have a conference there.

State Street, a many-blocks-long cultural cornucopia, is two blocks away on the other side of the state capitol, and home to a huge variety of restaurants, shops and what have you, far above average for a typical college town. All in all a good experience.

This is truly a wonderful place to get away to. The location is perfect to the downtown area, you can walk to the Capitol & be close to the action of State Street. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms upscale, beds incredibly comfortable & the staff could not be friendlier. We love the opportunity to be looking at the lake & enjoying the serenity that this Hilton allows us to experience.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was centrally located in Madison with great service. Ask for a room with a view of the lake.

We had a great stay complemented by the outstanding staff. What a comfort on the weekend of our daughter's wedding to know I could depend on the staff to help us out even at a moments notice to get us where we needed to go. We slept as though we were at home. The room was so quiet and comfortable. The rooms have great views and an excellent location near Monona Terrace and the Saturday Farmer's market and Wednesday Concerts on the Capital Square. You can park your car and travel on foot.
It is a wonderful Hotel in a great location. I look forward to my next visit.

This is a hotel that pays attention to details. The staff was wonderful and obviously seasoned. No real surprises here. Rooms were small, but its a downtown hotel so its to be expected. I've have stayed here twice and have experienced both the city view and lake view. I recomend the lake in the summer and city in the winter. Just really can't say enough about this hotel!!

This hotel is in a great location right on the lake with gorgeous views and close to the capital square and all the night life. The hotel is very kept up and it was nice that they had a free shuttle that took us around the downtown area.
