First off, this bake shop oozes with charm and cuteness. It's quite small, but has a lovely shabby-chic ambiance that will lure you in. The kitchen is open and visible from the street so you can see all the baking going on. The workers are obviously dedicated and serious about their craft. There are usually only one or two bakers who dust the flour off themselves to help you with your order. What is so curious, though, is this gorgeous bakery in a beautiful prominent corner location, and then you walk in to find a tiny little display case with sometimes as few as twenty or so cupcakes in it. It's a bit of a surprise to see how few items they have. But the quality is top notch. All high-quality ingredients and delicious results. It's shockingly pricey, but the products meet the highest standards. Another strange aspect is the odds hours they keep. They are not an early morning bakery, and often seem to be closed when you'd expect a bakery to be open, like Sunday. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 9 AM to 7 PM.

This place trumps ANY of the similar places in NY city hands down....and HOOOOLY GLUTEN FREE WEDDING CAKE, BATMAN!!! Wow. These guys are absolutely the best. They have "regular' treats as well, but for the foood allergy crowd, they're just superpowered baking rock stars.

I have to say, these cupcakes are probably the best I have ever had. The cake is moist, tasty, and not too dense. The frosting, especially the buttercream, is just, asdfghjkl, I can't even describe how sumptuous and delightful it is. I ABSOLUTELY recommend this bake shop.
They also sell other baked goods (brownies, whoopie pies, etc.). Another one of their great selling points are the beautiful cakes that they make for various occasions. I have never personally had one, but if they are as good as their cupcakes, they are certainly worth a trip to Middleton.
This bake shop is also exceptional in that they have a wide variety of scrumptious vegan/gluten free items that are just as delicious as the regular food. I have a relative who has a very limited diet due to health issues, and I believe she could have a cupcake from Bloom without any problem.
So, to conclude my very spirited review of this bake shop, I encourage you to, if you are ever in the Madison/Middleton area, visit Bloom Bake Shop. You will absolutely not regret it!

Usually stop at Gigi’s for cupcakes but wanted to give this one a chance. Loved the cupcakes. Perfect size and not too much frosting. While they didn’t have as much of a flavor selection as I had hoped, I was happy to splurge on the other treats like a salted caramel brownie and whoopie pie instead. Loved that it was cute and local.

Bloom is such a cute little bakery! It smells absolutely heavenly when you walk in. The bakery is modern yet classy. The layout of the shop wasn't great - there wasn't enough seats and it seemed a bit small. We had good interactions with the people working there, they seemed nice and friendly. They had a lot of gluten free options and non-gluten free options and ALL of them looked so delicious. We finally settled on getting a chocolate salted caramel cupcake (around $3) which was one of the best cupcakes I've had in a long time. I would definitely recommend Bloom for the taste of their cupcakes but the price brings it down a bit.
