For a relatively inexpensive and fun time, go to a Madison Mallards game at the "Duck Pond." The Mallards are a collegiate summer league team with a good bit of talent, and the games are loaded with spectacles between innings, typical of the minor league experience. The food at this venue is amazing -- you have to give credit to Wisconsinites to serve up awesome brats, craft beer and jalapeño-cheeze stuffed pretzels for a reasonable price. The park seems to have a lot of parking, but we found getting to the park from Madison's Capitol District was simple. If you're from out-of-town (like we are), you can purchase and print your tickets online, or buy them at the gate when you arrive.
