“Check it out -- You will be impressed”
Reviewed March 23, 2014

The Ice Age Trial traces the edge of the most recent glaciation. But this review focuses on a segment of the Trail that is within a few mlles of downtown Madison. Find Valley View Road, follow it and turn left on Mound View. There is a parking lot and entry to the Trail at Mound View and Moraine Ridge. Follow the Trail until you come to a fork in the Trail; turn right or left and if your time is limited you can make a loop of a mile or so; or you can follow the Trail for a longer hike. You will pass through some woodsy areas and some clear areas and you will be viewing vegetation depending on the season of the year. You will be impressed. Just thinking about it, I'm going out there again tomorrow.

“Gibraltar Rock is a favorite spot along the trail!”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

You can't do the trail all at once, but one of my favorite spots is Gibraltar Rock. I first visited before it was part of the trail 50 years ago! Back then you could drive up to the top! Now it's a 3/4 mile of uphill trail that used to be the road ... once you get to the top you don't want to come back down! There is a lot more trail to explore in both the Southern and Northern Kettle Moraine but when there is more then 1,100 miles of trail ...your possibilities are endless!

“Natural beauty and an easy adventure!”
Reviewed June 3, 2013 via mobile

Walked the trail near Mauthe Lake State Park including an overnight at the SP. Trail is well marked with yellow way markers. Trails vary from open meadow to deep forests with an abundance of lovely scenery. Some hilly sections walking high on the drumlin. Bring deet as ticks may be adundant, wear long pants and plenty of water.

“Wonderful”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This is a wonderfully beautiful trail that goes through many towns and the bike trail affords you a good long ride and there is a really cool old bridge that you go through which remains at a very cool temp whatever the temperature is outside...very nice when it;s hot and humid out.
