“Not a typical Summer”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

The Summer of 2012 is not typical so the water has a bit more green than normal but IS warmer than usual. The sunsets are great and the parks that are on it's shores make for a great family day and usually some decent shore fishing

“A day on the lake by Memorial Union”
Reviewed July 25, 2012

We love to go to the Union on the Madison UW Campus and hang out. The kids feed the birds their sandwich bread crust and we enjoy the music and company.

“Mendota”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

Sail Mendota occasionally and have done Rythm and Booms (in a canoe as well as in a boat) from the water... (didn't get out of the landing till after 2:00am with the boat)... and have always enjoyed ourselves there.

“lakes are an integral part of teh community”
Reviewed June 19, 2012

The UW and downtown is perched between Lake Mendota to the north and Lake Monona to the south. It's a lovely setting. The only downside is both lakes suffer from a very high trophic level, meaning they are green and unsafe to swim in. Beautiful, yes, but not good beaches.

“Make sure to bring your protective suit”
Reviewed June 12, 2012

Dirty Lake, Stinky Fish! Really wish they would do a better job of keeping the lakes clean.
