“Classic old breakfast place”
Reviewed February 20, 2013

Little has changed at MIckie's since the 1950's, other than the prices, and even those aren't bad. Good solid fare and lots of fun. Very crowded on Sunday mornings!

“Huge Servings ... Great Food”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

When the server asks you if you want a half-order of pancakes, that should let you know they're going to be huge ... and oh-so-good. We stayed at HotelRed for several nights and each morning we walked around the corner to grab an early breakfast at Mickies (they open at 6am). The first day we tried the Banana Cinnamon Nut Pancakes and a Scrambler ... the pancakes were huge, fluffy and full of banana and cinnamon ... almost like banana bread on a plate. The second day we tried the corned beef hash (our only disappointment ... it was rather sour ... almost vinegary), a single cornmeal pancake (we learned our lesson) and an omelet. I also got a piece of the apple coffee cake to go for later (highly recommended ... you'll regret it if you don't). Great service ... amazing food. A must stop the next time we're in town.

“Oh my!”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

Neat little hole in the wall. Embarrassed that I couldn't finish my breakfast. The scrambler is huge!

“Long lines, huge portions, cheap and good”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

Be prepared to wait outside for a table on the weekends. The food is good, very very casual diner style and the prices are very affordable/cheap.

“Old fashioned breakfast XXL”
Reviewed December 1, 2012 via mobile

Lots of food and what a great old fashioned eggs and hash browns breakfast. Just like the breakfast I use to get in those small Iowa farm towns when I was a kid. It's a place you must visit during your stay in Madtown. Truly on the list of things to see, do and eat.
