“Madison Concourse is a First Class Hotel”

From check-in to the use of the Governor's Club, the Madison Concourse Hotel is one of the best places to stay in any state capitol. This hotel knows how to cater to the business and casual traveler; well-appointed rooms; good food; front dest greeting; and that special place known as the Governor's Club. When I checked in, the front desk knew this was my fourth visit in two years and treated me well. I cannot compliment them more; especially since a Badger's football game and Madison Ironman occurred on the same weekend.

Room Tip: Choose the Governor's floor. The rooms may cost a little more but they as well as the amenities...

I'm ready to go back! We only had one night to stay on our last visit and it just wasn't long enough. The entire staff is just so nice, plus the hotel is very clean and beautiful and quiet...I just want to stay there and sleep in those extremely comfortable beds all the time! Whenever we're in the Madison area, it's a no-brainer where to stay. (We stayed in a chain along the highway once...never again, this is a much better deal, especially when you factor in location and amenities!) Everything is set up to accommodate the business traveler (love the ergonomic desk chairs) but is VERY welcoming and comfortable for the pleasure traveler too. All types of rooms are nice and include refrigerators and free wifi. The upper 3 floors are in the "Governor's Club" which includes some nice perks (we didn't plan ahead & due to a large convention they were all full), even the "standard rooms" are nicer than most. Underground parking is available ($10 per night) and well worth it! We walked everywhere that evening and the next morning. The location downtown near the state capital with many great restaurants, pubs, bars, museums, shopping and theater within an easy walk is priceless! Now there is also a B Cycle bike rental stand across the street if you are so inclined. Our next visit will be more planned (instead on a one nighter at the end of a road trip) so we can enjoy the stay even more!

Room Tip: The top 3 floors are part of the Governor's Club and cost a little more but include several extr...

A classic feel in the downtown of Madison. Great atmosphere and the rooms were terrific. Beds were comfortable and the TV options were good. The lobby is inviting and welcoming. Looks like a great place for weddings as well.

My friends and family were in town for a wedding and the hotel was very welcoming. In fact, there were 4 wedding parties staying in the hotel this weekend. We rented out a large suite on the 6th floor for the bride and bridal party to get hair/makeup done. The room was huge! It had a kitchen area with a huge fridge. More cups would have been nice.
Overall, the rooms were very nice, the bar had great drink and food selections, the breakfast buffet had quite a variety, the lobby was beautiful and the front desk staff was very nice and accommodating.

I had the opportunity to travel to Madison, WI, on business, and was only there for one night. Staying at the Madison Concourse made me actually wish the trip was *longer*, if you can believe it! The experience from start to finish was outstanding ... the staff was exceptional, the room was one of the most luxurious and well-appointed I've stayed in (on par with Ritz-Carlton, frankly), and its prime location was walking distance from the business meeting as well as an incredible array of restaurants, entertainment and just walkin' around.

I had the opportunity to use the fitness center - outstanding! - and almost wish I could've spent time in the pool & jacuzzi...

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Madison.

P.S. Just found out the business trip resulted in a contract! Guess where I'll be staying when I come back to Madison?!?<grin>

We stayed at the hotel for two nights , the room was very large with a great bathroom... big glass shower. The room did have a large spot on the ceiling that looked like mold, I did not expect to see that for the amount that we paid. Other than that nice location walking distance to State Street, the Capitol, and Saturday mornings had the best Farmers Market that I have ever been to. Hotel could use a little updating for what you pay for but very nice overall. Kim Gillis

This is a very clean, well maintained hotel. The staff was great, everything was in good maintained order and the location was really quite perfect. But... I would recommend upgrading to the Governors Club (floors 11, 12 and 14). The rooms are significantly bigger and nicer, and you get access to a private room for free bfast in the am.

It should be noted, that there are some EXCELLENT bfast spots around the city, so really it is the room improvement that does it for me.

Additional note for travellers. Madison is a very pretty and clean city, but be prepared for the really large number of homeless people everywhere around the capital building. I was there at an international conference, and all attendees were quite surprised by the numbers.

Room Tip: 11, 12 or 14 floor
