“Very decent book Govenor's Club for sure”
Reviewed July 28, 2013

Good, decent hotel, rooms are large and clean if you can get a view of the State Capitol all the better. Governor's Club has food and cocktails gratis and is very friendly. Early breakfast is a bit of a gamble - if you ask for tea they don't realise that it should have milk as an option, but i guess that is true of a lot of US places. Really close to good restaurants and drinkeries as well, in fact the location is just about perfect, not noisy. And Madison is just a wonderful town.

Stayed here for a football game. Very nice. My stay was short so I didn't eat in the hotel. Location convenient especially for game day. Seems like there ought to be more options close to UW, given the size of the school.

I participated in a business meeting at this hotel 18-19 July. The staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming. I walked in with the company logo on my shirt and the desk person was reaching for my key before I could say my name. (Of course she didn't know for sure it was me, but I liked her initiative. For a really nice hotel, it set a fun and friendly tone right from the beginning.) The set up in the meeting room was perfect and the assortment of food was great and it all tasted good. I had a room on the Governor's Club level and not only was it a great updated room, but my view was right out at the capital. Being a UW grad, I have stayed at this hotel before and it was great then too. It is a bit of a walk to Camp Randall stadium, but a great excuse to linger on State Street and other watering holes along the way. Great hotel in a great location, with wonderful service. If you want more than "just a room", this is the place to stay. I have stayed at lots of different hotels around the country and this one is certainly high on my list. I will be back!!!

Room Tip: Neat views on the higher floors. (I saw the capital and Lake Monona.) Corner rooms have windows on...

Two couples spent Saturday night at the Madison Concourse Hotel. Good restaurants within walking distance in every direction. Sunday morning the State Capital square was full of people enjoying the weekly Farmers Market and a side walk sale ran up and down State street. We doubt that you can find a better hotel in a more convenient location

Room Tip: If possible, request a room with a view of the capital building.

My wife and I stayed at the Concourse on July i2 thru the 14th during the Art Fair on the Square. The location is perfect. You walk out the back entrance and you are right there. The numerous restaurants and the campus are all short walks. The Farmers Market on Saturdays may be the best in the country and is also right there.. We are from out of state so we bring a cooler every year to take some of the great produce and bakery items home. The hotel is clean and the beds are very comfortable. The staff may be one of the best anywhere. They are their to help make your stay enjoyable. We stayed on the Governors Floor. This may be one of the best kept secrets in Wisconsin. The rooms are large and well decorated with a great view of the lake. Cocktail hour with all brand name liquor plus wonderful snacks in the evening and a substantial breakfast in the morning which is part of your hotel rate. Parking is only $10 per nite and right under the hotel so you can take elevator right to your room Check in and check out is a breeze with plenty of help at the desk so there is no wait. We stay here every year and we believe this is the best stay in Madison.

This was my second visit to the Madison Concourse, and again - I was pleased with my stay.

It's extremely convenient to the central shopping, capitol building, and UW campus. The location can't be beat for exploring Madison on foot.

The room seemed recently re-done and clean. Great wifi. The staff is very friendly and professional.

The parking is not free - It was $10, I believe. You enter and exit with a card they give you at the front desk.

Art Fair on the Square weekend. 200,000 plus people on the square this weekend. Working as a volunteer the entire weekend. Early check in Friday and checked out Monday. The hotel is clean, the staff is both friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and updated but I think small and not updated enough for the price. Like I said in the title, location, location, location. I did request two rooms with views of the Capitol and one had a great view and the other did have a view of almost 1/2 of the building. Reserved rooms four months ago. After checking the view opened the refrigerator to fill with a couple beverages for later and found it 1/2 filled with someone's left over dinner. The second room also had left overs in the refrigerator. Apparently refrigerators are not something they check very often. They should! Breakfast Buffett was good, wait staff for breakfast was excellent but the hostess seemed unhappy every morning. Maybe she is not a morning person? This was my second time here in four years and I remembered it as being a better experience the last time. Also, there is an incredible amount of light which comes thru the room door all night long. It's like leaving the bathroom light on all night. Also, when the compressor kicks in on the air conditioning unit it sounds like somebody starting up a dump truck. the second room did have quiet air. NOTE....I made reservation by phone and the people on the phone were very, very polite and always very helpful. They called back prior to the trip to confirm the rooms and and confirmed my early check in.
