Our first visit to Madison and attending a wedding. We found the Sheraton conveniently located but far enough from downtown to avoid the late night rowdy crowd. The lobby was well laid out, had mini convenience stores and Starbucks. Lobby staff was very helpful although I would not describe as "seasoned" with the information they did not know, but very friendly and trying to help. Rooms were a bit small with either two double beds or one queen. VERY comfortable with standard room amenities although no refrigerator or microwave. Saw some in the hallway so I guess you have to ask for them. Restaurant was very cozy with typical menu although we did not eat there. Gym and indoor pool was nice to have. Excellent set up to have a free shuttle on the half hour to take you downtown, have your fun and bring you back to peace and quiet. Recommend you make a reservation with the front desk for the Shuttle. When the driver shows up, they will ask for the room number first before allowing others on. Pet friendly place. Ask for a room on the street side not the train side which is behind the hotel. Across the street from the convention center so very convenient if you are attending something there. Good running path around a beautiful lake from the hotel to downtown - - about 2 miles I would guess. Our price was $129/night. I would probably look elsewhere if I had to pay more.
