I asked to be moved to a room in the back of the hotel because the view is much better from that side of the hotel. We got moved and into a bigger room with a King and a Queen bed. This hotel is at the end of the main street which I liked because its quieter. Typical continental breakfast included. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. (the spa timer is locaed on the brick column OUTSIDE of the gate.) The water seemed a little cloudy, like it needed a fresh dose of chlorine, but that didn't stop us from using the pool. Good restaurant next door, Koko's Friendly Pub, is family friendly, very yummy, and makes a refreshing mojito

Not a bad hotel. Recently remodeled and renamed Baymont Inn & Suites. I'm not sure why they call them suites as they are the same exact rooms with the addition of a jetted bathtub, so just get the standard room. The pool in the center of the hotel has LOTS of clorine and makes the whole hotel smell like a pool, so ask for a room with an outside door. Rooms were pretty big with a microwave and fridge.

Breakfast wasn't too bad, but lots of sugar and carbs with little protein, so the kids were hungry within the hour.

Recently renamed the Baymont Hotel, this place was one of our family favorites during a two-week road trip. The rooms were huge and the beds very comfortable. There was ample counter space in the sink area. My husband appreciated the solid Internet connection. The indoor pool and spa were a decent size and in excellent condition. The free breakfast in the ample dining room was also very good. One can only hope they don't raise their rates. This inn is an excellent value.

The Comfort Inn Cortez became our salvation as we fled the overpriced and badly specified accommodation of the Far View Inn which is located in Mesa Verde National Park. We had stayed there one night and it was certainly one too many! After a 2nd day exploring Mesa Verde we took the relatively short and scenic drive down to the town of Cortez and checked in at the Comfort Inn.

We had been on the road across the American West for 10 days and having tried a wide variety of accommodation were starting to get a feel for what would be a good stay in the USA . The exterior reassured with its corporate identity and size but the reception area looked more like a side room which had been converted into an office. However it was late in the day and several people were queued ahead of us so we didn't hesitate to ask for a top floor room to the rear which was politely provided. On entering the inner door past reception we saw a perfectly pleasant internal courtyard with pool and jacuzzi area. Some reviews have mentioned noise here and sure enough it would be a problem if a bunch of college kids or hells angels were in residence! Other than that I don't think you will need to worry too much. There was a mother with a toddler who dropped some food in the pool and staff immediately appeared and cleaned everything up with no delay.

The room we had requested was along a short corridor ( wide and spacious, well lit and with good laundry facilities ) on the top floor and its door opened out on to the surrounding walkway. There was quite a nice view out back up towards the Mesa .
The door was solid and the window didn't let in much by way of noise. There was plenty of space and the two beds were as large and comfortable as we encountered anywhere except perhaps the Candy Cane Inn in Anaheim. Bathroom and shower were fine. My two kids were ready for bed pretty early considering their usual bedtime but of course this was late compared to the American guests who like to slumber by 9pm and hit the road by 6.30am or so. As they crossed from the bathroom to the beds their footsteps, though very light, must have transmitted through to the room below. We received a call from reception to inform us there was a complaint of noise and as they had an early start the next day ( guess where they were from ? ) wanted us to be moved to another room. I informed reception we were making no noise, being more than respectful of other guests and suggested that if those underneath had a problem they were the ones who should be moved - preferably to a location right beside the exit from where they could facilitate their rapid departure at dawn!

Fortunately there was no more said but it does go to show some people are almost paranoid about the slightest sound and what they consider as unacceptable noise may go unnoticed by most other travelers. We enjoyed the breakfast available in the roomy dining area which was full of people who seemed to be in good spirits. There was plenty of everything including waffles/pancakes and syrup which my kids adore and good coffee which I enjoyed while scanning the crowd for the noise stazi. I never spotted them but of course they were probably long gone.

We stayed in other Comfort Inns across the West after this but none were quite as good.
Would definitely recommend this one; just get there by mid to late afternoon at least for best choice of room and walk like a grasshopper on rice paper lest you annoy someone below!

We arrived early and they checked us in anyway, the carpets should have been replaced last winter, but the indoor swimming pool and how close it was to Mesa Verde made it up for it! And who sleeps on the floor anyway?? I am a little picky on breakfast, but their orange juice and coffee were good. Overall it served our purpose and kept us safe. I really like their NON SMOKING policy throughout the entire premises.

This was a terrible experience, and we ended up not staying at all. The first room they gave us had a broken AC (also no hair dryer). They gave us a second room - the AC in this one was also broken; it was right outside the pool area where there was a very LOUD party; and there was a strong cigarette smell (although this was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel). For the third try, the room was not a King as we had reserved, and it had not even been cleaned - the beds were unmade and there was trash left in the room. We left and went to another hotel right down the road. It is also noteworthy that the staff did not even apologize when we left!

An excellent one nite stand. Clean. Nice mattress. Bigger than average rooms. I recommend trying for a corner. If its daylite you will get excellent views. Its a short walk to Walmart for stuff.
the included breakfast is far above average. Hot eggs with ham with lots of other choices. Large dining room with plenty of seating. Top value. I suggest you make reservations during peak tourist season. This place was almost sold out in a slow day in October when we arrived.

Summary: Great value. Clean rooms with great mattress. Easy access to wireless internet at desk in room. Mission accomplished!
