On a vacation road trip with 4 pre-teen grandkids. Accomodation and breakfast was the best we had in a week of travel and staying in a variety of hotels. Would have preferred an indoor pool, but the outdoor pool was satisfactory. Excellent indoor hot pool. Would definitely recommend for a family.

This is a very nice hotel--not the Ritz, but comparable to a Holiday Inn Express or a Hilton Garden Inn. We have a suite which is a nice bedroom with two beautiful big beds (with comforters, and "fancy" bedding), and a living room with a pull out double couch. The bathroom has two sinks--one in the bathroom, and the other outside the door. There is also a nice mini-fridge and microwave. Our room looks out over a little courtyard with a fountain and a table where we ate dinner. Across the street is the City Market. Very clear, updated, safe, and quiet. We have not had breakfast yet, but that is not our highest concern. What we do like is space to relax and unwind. We are traveling with two teenage daughters, and it's nice to have our space!

If you are in the 4 corners/Mesa Verde area and are looking for a clean, convenient hotel, I recommend checking out the Best Western, Turquoise Inn & Suites in Cortez. I stayed in the King Suite and it was clean and comfortable.

I wish this site would let you give half points because I would give it a 3 1/2. For Cortez, this is a good, affordable place to stay. The rooms were very spacious (good for families), the beds were comfortable, they give you tons of towels and it was clean. The pool and jet spa were both nice. The breakfast was decent (standard free hotel/motel breakfast - eggs, bacons, waffles, etc.).

The one complaint I would have is that our room was dark and we had to turn on 3 lamps to get light - the management could stand to install bright floor lamps in the rooms.

Anyone that complains about the breakfast or the fact that it's a motor inn should realize they are staying at a Best Western. It's not luxurious. As far as Best Western's go, this one was pretty nice. I'd stay here again.

Also - the location was great!

We stayed at the Turquoise Inn after visiting Mesa Verde National Park. We were in the middle of a road trip and didn't have a reservation. Our room was clean and comfortable, and a reasonable size (comfortable for 3 adults sharing) and nicely decorated. It was a little more expensive than many of the other places we'd been staying on our road trip, even other Best Westerns. I don't that there was anything special that warranted the extra expense. Breakfast was included and was good. All in all a pleasant experience.

This was one of the best, if not the best, best westerns we have ever stayed in. We rented a very clean, comfortable, modern suite which afforded plenty of room for the four of us. The staff was very friendly and welcoming during our check-in and recommended a nice restaurant for dinner. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful - waffles, eggs, biscuits & gravy along with the usual assorted breads and yogurt. The price was very reasonable as well. Highly recommended from this frequent traveler.
