The Turquoise Inn is an old hotel, but has been maintained and upgraded so that it is a very good place to stay. We had two rooms which, unfortunately, were not close together because one was a special 2-room suite. The check-in staff very helpfully offered to change our location but was unable to because there was a conflict on the second night. The suite overlooked a pretty little garden area with a fountain; the other room was fronted by a sidewalk and was a little dark because the windows were high to provide privacy. However, it was very spacious except for the bathroom which was small. A long counter outside the bathroom door provided space for cosmetics and personal items, plus the coffee maker. They provided a nice array of high-quality toiletries.
The breakfast was outstanding. There was a large selection of hot and cold foods; the scrambled eggs tasted like real eggs, the sausage and biscuits and gravy were good. The woman in charge of the room was very efficient and friendly, making sure that everything was replenished and that we were finding what we wanted.
This is a clean and friendly place, close to Mesa Verde, and I would definitely recommend it.
