“Simple, Tasty Food, Bar, Friendly Staff”

One side is a new rendition of an old restaurant, complete with a dessert bakery counter, and the other side is a tavern.
We enjoyed a lunch of burgers, each one coming exactly as ordered. Three of us ordered Veggie burgers with black beans and corn mixed in. Really tasty! The other ordered a chicken breast burger, perfectly done. Abe also had a side of fries which "were potatoes this morning" And had the skin on, Excellent, as they really tasted like fresh potatoes. We ended with a raspberry macaroon brownie, our best treat. All was served by a very accommodating and pleasant woman.
The tavern offers a gluten-free beer, "Omission," and sing-along nights. Looks like fun.

“All good at Mr Happy's”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

We had a few breakfasts here in early October. This restaurant does a very good job of breakfast. The hashbrowns are very good. They bake their own breads there so the toast that you get is very good as well. I really liked the multigrain toast..some of the best I've ever had. Bacon was thick and flavourful and the eggs were always done as ordered. The coffee has a bit of a bite to it, just a bit strong for my taste. The server was great, the atmosphere was fun. There is a lounge on the other side of the restaurant and there is live entertainment....guy does a pretty good version of Willy Nelson. They have fresh pastries at the counter..don't forget to take one of these out for a snack

“Breakfast!”
Reviewed September 21, 2013

Great place to go for breakfast - really good homemade bread and fresh made hashbrowns, yummy grits with cheese and jalapenos, thick and crisp bacon and my husband's ham slice with his eggs was huge and tasty. Quick service, would be a good family place.

“A nice place, not quite as happy as I was expecting though”
Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

It was empty when we stopped for lunch, and our server wasn't very excited.

My Cobb salad was fine, but the members of our party that had the burger said it was awful, also the fries were very greasy.

“Best breakfast in Colorado”
Reviewed September 10, 2013

We really enjoyed this restaurant for breakfast. The pastries were delicious. But the hash browns were the best I have ever eaten. And I LOVE hash browns! If you are in Cortez for breakfast, you will not be sorry you stopped in here. Lots of menu choices and everything we had was good.
