“Family atmosphere in a great Victorian Home with amazing hosts”
Reviewed March 19, 2011

This was our get-away 2 day vacation and we couldn't be happier with what we were offered here.

Host David and Rebecca are just awesome people. They made us feel like we were part of a big family.

We actually ended up spending much more time in this beautiful Victorian home than we planned for. If you start appreciating all the little details you might not feel the need to leave this home and step outside.

Breakfast was just great and the way it was organised even better.

Looking forward to coming back here...

Mr. David and Mrs. Rebecca were the most wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. We walked in to a beautiful house (the staircase is extraordinary!!) that we quickly decided was one of the best we've stayed in - to say nothing of the FOOD!!! Mrs. Rebecca is an excellent cook and I can promise you won't get up from her table hungry- as a matter of fact we didn't eat again until around 5:00 PM!! The service here is beyond anything we've had in quite some time. The packages offered are definitely worth the extra cost and if you figure everthing individually you are saving quite a bit. The massage at the spa was a wonderful experience and very relaxing (our 1st time but we will do this again also!) . The next time we go to Hot Springs we will be staying here!!

This was our second visit to Wildwood and it was as good as we remembered. Wildwood was clean and cheerful with lots of welcoming touches. The food - excellent and filling (no need for lunch!) This was just what we wanted a relaxing girls trip with fabulous spa treatments at Quapaw and Sabai. Ice cream at Num Nums (Nom Noms?) all natural and majorly delicious was a highlight. Shopping at Sparkles was a fun treat as well. Only negative experience was at Belle Arti - this was a second trip to this restaurant - wasn't impressed first or second time (staff didn't seem to care and food quality did NOT match the prices). If you are eating out in Hot Springs restaurants (not chains) close earlier than expected.

David and Becky are very gracious and accommodating hosts. They are very helpful in taking care of everything from dinner reservations to delicious homemade snacks. They made our 25th Wedding Anniversary a relaxing, romantic and memorable weekend. Oh yes, and the breakfast was amazingly delicious. The Wildwood Mansion is beautiful and rich with history. Don't miss the historical tour that Becky gives following breakfast. We would definitely recommend the Kipling Room.

This was our first trip to Hot Springs and Rebecca and David made it really special. The house, of course, is beautiful: lots of history, lots of beautiful furnishings and woodwork; if that is your interest, you wouldn't go wrong staying here simply to soak in the atmosphere of the place. But we went to Hot Springs for, well, the hot springs; most days we were eager to get out and go. Rebecca was super-helpful in that regard, providing us with a restaurant list (of "where the locals eat"), maps (of the town and its hiking trails), and plenty of advice (including how to get 10% off admission to the Quapaw Bathhouse). Breakfast each morning was an event: three courses of delicious, beautifully presented meals that were usually enough to keep us full into the afternoon. While we ate, our room was "freshened up." We were really delighted by their attention to detail, evident in little touches like the "snack room," where we could go to grab a brownie or a bottle of water on our way up to the room.

As terrific and thoughtful as Rebecca's attentions were, we really enjoyed and appreciated her and David's "arm's-length" approach: most days, we didn't see them after breakfast. Unlike other B&Bs we'd stayed in, Rebecca and David live in a separate part of the house, which made the Wildwood feel more like it was "our house" for the weekend, rather than like we were staying in someone else's house. (We stayed over on a Sunday and a Monday night, so we were the only guests and really did have the run of the place.) If you're looking for privacy, or are independent, I think you'd really enjoy Rebecca and David's "get out of your way" approach.

We stayed in the Blue Parlor Room, which, while not huge, was spacious enough. It had a small porch with a porch swing, which we greatly enjoyed. There was also a small fake fireplace and a TV and DVD player. We peeked into the other rooms before leaving and while some were larger, this one appeared to be the coziest, and I can definitely recommend it. (It's also a great value, as it's one of the less-expensive rooms.)

Rebecca is an amazing hostess...I loved that she handled all the scheduling, details of our chosen package & had everything waiting for us in our suite. The Breakfast at Wildwood is an AMAZING three course breakfast. The suite we were in was very clean, decorated very romantically, and stocked with plenty of towels, beverages & snacks. Everything in the suite was ready and waiting for us, candles light, rose pedals lain about the room, wine was chilled, wine glasses awaiting, & rose were BEAUTIFUL! Rebecca also had a plate of homemade cookies & brownies in the room that were absolutely delicious! The day after we returned from our visit at Wildwood, I called and booked another weekend for April and extend our stay one more night.

The Wildwood Architecture is beautiful along with the stain glass windows & I can't wait to go back in April to see the landscaping that will be in bloom! Rebecca also offers a Historic Tour of Wildwood to her guests. I would recommend Wildwood 1884 to anyone visiting Hot Springs and as you can see we will be back to Wildwood for our future get-a-ways.
