I highly recommend wandering the gardens. The grounds are magical. We visited in November. They were setting up for Christmas and even with the boxes of lights, the experience was wonderful.

A beautiful place to visit nature. Christmas decorations were going up and many beautiful lights were already visible. Peaceful and tranquil beauty to experience. The Garvan Chapel is a magnificent structure one must see. Striking architecture with that beautiful view of all that is around.

This was our first visit. Botanical gardens are a must stop for us when traveling. Woodland IS in the name, and this is ALL WOODS. NICE walks, great labeling for almost all plants/trees (and the few who were not identified we took a picture, and staff stationed at the exit was able to quickly identify. The kids play area would have been great for our grand children, was pretty neat for us old folks too ! Big rocks to go around, over, through and even a little cave.

Staff are wonderful, especially Shirley Goff, who showed us the best attractions to see and mapped it out for us. Have to admit it wasn’t the best time of year to go as the azaleas were just finishing and the Christmas lights are going up but it was still utterly beautiful. The weather was in our favour and you could certainly appreciate all the hard work that goes into keeping the gardens spectacular. My only disappointment (and the reason I didn’t rate you five stars) was the on-site Chipmunk Cafe still using polystyrene cups and plastic straws. Polystyrene is not biodegradeable and should really have no place in our world today and plastic straws are ending up in our oceans killing the marine life. Please, please, please change to cardboard.

This is a magnificent a place to spend the day. We expected to go for a couple hours but ended up spending 5 hours (and 15000 steps) It was a beautiful fall day, late in the season, but the gardens are a delight and so well maintained. There is so much to see, would love to go back for the Christmas decorations and lights exhibits. Don't miss any part of the Gardens. Take a nap in the midday if necessary but stay for lunch and see the wilderness areas also.

Very cool piece of architecture. Skipped the garden that requires a fee and just did the chapel that is free. The garden looks awesome and huge so would do if had more time.

This needs to be on everyones list. I am so glad we made time to go and visit. Besides Anthony Chapel, which is just amazing, there are so many other things to look at. Loved the childrens tree house as well. They were starting to decorate for the winter holidays which was fun to see as well. While we went during the day, I can only imagine how it looks at night with all of the lights. DONT MISS!

We only saw the outside of the gardens from the parking lot and entrance but talked to some women working there who made it sound like we will have to come back especially during the Christmas season. Apparently there are over 4 million lights distributed throughout the gardens that make it seem magical. We did however really enjoy the Anthony Chapel and would definitely recommend seeing that. The architecture is amazing!

What a beautiful woodland gardens!
We visited twice in two days and enjoyed
it immensely each time. Couldn’t believe that the
azaleas were still blooming & the beautiful fall colors
of the trees were just breathtaking! So many pretty garden areas & they’re in the process of lighting for Christmas
season; I can only imagine how beautiful it will be in just a few days!
Anthony’s Chapel is stunning & what a setting ! No wonder so many weddings were taking place there this weekend ! ( so glad we were able to see it between two of them) I can see us returning each season !
