“Pretty good hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2009

We got this hotel through Priceline ($87 total) and didn't know what to expect. We didn't have any complaints. The hotel is modern; the room was nice sized and comfortable; the included breakfast was better than one normally expects when not in a restaurant. We had dinner at Salsa's Mexican across the street which is not so hot.

Stayed at the hotel during Thanksgiving while visiting family in Hot Springs. The hotel is situated within a cluster of other budget hotels such as Holiday Inn Express, and Comfort Inn. It is between the mall and racetrack, so convienent. Traffic can be challenging along Central going towards the track/downtown because you pass through main shopping areas.

The hotel was very clean and new feeling. Standard layout of new budget hotels. We had king suite on 1st floor and it was clean and of large size. Nothing surprising. We did not stay at the room long or take advantage of other attributes. Did walk by indoor pool and looked good.

Did have constant problem with free wireless. had to constantly get the front desk people to reboot and the reception (even on first floor) was bad. kept kicking me off. Finally had to go to lobby area to ensure I could use and answer email. Clerks did not know much about how to fix or correct. They probably didnt like seeing me in my skivvies in the lobby - maybe will help them put some effort into fixing.

The free breakfast was fine. Nothing outstanding with cerals, fruit and some hot breads. About what you would expect.

The good: Our room was clean and fairly quiet -- we were on first floor near end of hall.

The bad: Wireless internet was down all four days. They also have a bridge system that is suppose to work through the electric AC plug but it did not work either. Management did not seem to care blaming it on weather one day - cable the next. Their solution -- "go to a coffee shop!"

  • Liked — room was clean
  • Disliked — no internet service (broken) after booking with that in mind from the hotel description

I had just checked in with my 16 year old son. We were spending a "spring break" weekend shopping getaway together. He went in and used the toliet......urinated. When he flushed, the toliet began overflowing....so I went downstairs to the desk to report it.....the clerk tried to hand me a plunger to fix the toliet. I told her that I did not just pay $104.00 to fix my own hotel toliet. Excuse me??? Can you believe a person is expected to plunge a toliet after just paying $104 to stay there.....Uh,,,,no thanks! I told her that I either wanted my money back or she could move me to another room, which she reluctantly did.

We thought the hotel was lovely and the staff (especially at the front desk) was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. It’s in a great location and there are lots of places to eat nearby. We were in Hot Springs to attend the horse races at Oaklawn Park and it was very convenient for us. The only negative is that is was VERY noisy. Although our room was at the end of the hallway on the first floor, we could hear kids playing (screeching and hollering) in the swimming pool until very late at night. We could hear the televisions and the mumble of conversations in the rooms on either side of us and people walking up and down the hallway. Wish the rooms were better insulated for sound, because it's a lovely place.

  • Liked — Location, cleanliness, friendly staff
  • Disliked — It's NOISY

This place is okay. We stayed here one night with our two kids. We had a room on the second floor with two queen beds. The room was clean, it was just a little pricey for what you get. Our room the next night at Super 8 was larger for less, just down the street. One nice thing about this hotel is that there is a stairway in the entrance to the second floor, so you don't have to wait for the elevator. They do have an indoor pool, which they say is heated, but I guess it wasn't on. The hot tub was nice and it was nice and heated. The pool area does close, which I didn't understand, since it is inside, enclosed in it's own room. The outdoor pool where we stayed the next night was open all night, with no problems. The breakfast here was nice. It's more than what you might get at other places. My husband had biscuits and gravy and my dtr had "make your own waffles". They said they enjoyed the breakfast. The front desk was very nice when we arrived, but morning staff was just okay. Would stay here again, only if the other hotel was booked.

My husband & I went to hot springs to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary, our room was okay. The bathroom on the other hand needed exrta attention, the tub was dirty with hair in it, the floor had mold spots on it, and the toliet wasn't clean. When we laid down you could hear everthing going on in the hallways. Check -in was okay, but check-out was at least 20 minutes.
