“Awesome place, great beer selection”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

What a great idea to reinvent one of the bathhouses. On each visit, we always say they should do more with them, and this was a great way to restore and change things up. We stopped by twice while we were there. The waitstaff was all very nice and knowledgeable about the many beers on tap. My son loved the root beer the most, but my husband and I were introduced to some new great beers through their reasonably priced flights.

“Great place for beer tasting”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

I didn't eat any food at this brewery but I did do the beer tasting, which consisted of 5 different beers. I'm not a beer drinker, so I didn't really enjoy the beers, but for people that do like beer, it would be a fun experience. The place is lacking a little in decor and the atmosphere could use a boost, but it's still a pretty cool place. Eventhough I didn't eat anything, the menu looked pretty good. It's in a great location on Bath House Row.

“Great new addition to downtown Hot Springs!”
Reviewed August 3, 2013

I've been anticipating the opening of the Superior for sometime now. It's taken them more than two years of working through the permitting process with the National Park Service but it's been worth the wait! Obviously with any new place they need to time to work the kinks out and discover what works for them. But they are off to a terrific start.

Serving only craft brewed beer, the Superior has 16 beers on tap along with homemade root beer and seltzer water. They also serve a wide range of premium bottled beers. In coming months, they will begin producing their own craft beer in house as well as distilling spirits. Be warned, you will not find Budweiser, Miller Lite, or PBR here! Also, unfortunately the only wines they are serving (so far) are one white and one red from an Arkansas winery and they just aren't very good. My wife tried the chardonnay and had to send it back. I sipped it and saw why. Ugh.

The atmosphere is wonderful with seating throughout the lobby area of the old bathhouse. Railings along the bottom of the front windows allow you to people watch while sipping a beer. It can get a little loud when it's busy. Sound baffles are placed on the walls to try and help deaden the space but more probably will have to be done to tame the noise.

One current strength and weakness is the food menu. It is extremely limited although very tasty. In the long term they are going to have to add more "pub grub" that people expect to be able to order and enjoy eating with good beer (ie. some sort of burgers/sliders; beer battered fries or onion rings and the like) in addition to the "high end" types of appetizers and plates they are currently serving. They offered a lamb gyro last night as a special and it was outstanding. The gelato is delicious as well.

All in all a very welcome new addition to the bar and dining scene in Hot Springs and especially on historic Bathhouse Row.

“Pleasant Surprise!”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

Nice selection of beers - choose your own "sampler". Root beer is excellent as well. We ordered hummus and pita chips which were a nice compliment to the beer. Also, cheese and meat boards are nice. Had pistachio gelato and it was delicious!!! Nice atmosphere, choose a stool to watch the street traffic on Central Avenue.

“Lovely place”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

I really enjoyed my time here. It took them a very long time to open, but I am sure much of that had to do with crossing the red tape for opening a distillery in a national park. The snacks were excellent. The root beer was phenomenal. I did not try the beer because I am waiting on them to produce batches made with the Hot Springs water. As a resident of Hot Springs, I would love to see the difference in beer made here and elsewhere.
