“German...Really?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

Hubby and I arrived for our reservation with 3 other couples on a Saturday night at 7:30 for dinner. They were out of the featured beer, out of spatzel, we were stuck in the far back corner at a table for 20. Dry as a bone meat, very salty red cabbage and pork gravey, substituted regular old egg noodles for actual German choices. Rather slow service for the half empty dining establishment. If it weren't for the good company, I would have walked out. The topper was the lack of home made German desserts. If you are going to serve overcooked and oversalted foods, make sure you offer real authentic goodies to give the custom a positive taste before they leave. The tuba player, playing rock songs on a tuba, was the best part of the meal.

“Save Your Money & Time”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2012

This little resturant was recommended highly by a local merchant, however, we were deeply disappointed. The resturant location was hard to find as it was tucked away in the celler of a old building near the Subway sandwish store . Although the resturant decor was somewhat romanic that was as far as this resturant went in it's appeal. We ordered two Large German beers which turned out to cost $13.50 each. The menu was somewhat limited for what was discribed to us as being the best German dishes ever. It took an extremely long time for the food to be delivered to our table and so say it was not very good would be a kind statement to say the least. It was almost cold and my dish consisted of noodles and beef tips in a brown gravy on the side which was called "Goulash". The salad was good, but it cost an extra $4.00. The meals themselves were in our opinion extremely expensive for the presentation and neither dish tasted good enough to have qualified for the amount that was charged for them. Our bill totaled $80 for the meal and drinks. We will not return to this resturant and as you can read we will not be recommending it to anyone else. We wish we'd of gone to Subway instead.

“Good German Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2012

Had a great meal here. Everyone ordered something different and we all enjoyed our meals. The Sauerbraten was very good! Also the Goulash was good as well. This is a place we will definitely continue to come to when in Hot Springs!

“Not what we expected”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

I lived in Germany for 5 yrs and was excited to try this place. Ummmm...no. Not even close to "german" food. Our waitress was from Slovakia and was the closest thing to Germany in that place. The imported European beers were appreciated, but the food was not.

“Good Times”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

We are only in Hot Springs once or twice a year, but we always make it a point to stop here. This is a fun place to have a few drinks with friends. It is tucked away in Spencer's Corner in the down town area. There is an outdoor area where you can sit and drink. Some of the tables are warped from the rain, and the plastic chairs tend to get a little dirty, so I would recommend dark clothes if you're going to sit outside. Also, there is sometimes a funky smell out there, but I don't think it has anything to do with the Brau Haus. I'm not a fan of German food, so I didn't eat, but my husband and friends usually get snacks and seem to enjoy them. Also, you can't get Spatan on tap where we live, and their beer is really good (I like the Premium, my husband loves the Octoberfest). The bartender is a very friendly guy, but don't expect him to pour your Miller Lite in a glass for you is you get a "wussy beer"! Enjoy your visit and get a cold Spatan on draft.
