“A wonderful interactive science museum for kids of all ages!”
Reviewed February 19, 2012

The museum is located on very attractive wooded grounds and has permanent and travelling exhibits. Most of the exhibits are interactive and let the kids play while they learn. My favorite is a very large Van De Graff generator where they can experience their hair standing on end from the intense static electricity.

“A good place to spend hours on rainy day”
Reviewed September 19, 2011

My wife and I were in Hot Springs for our anniversary celebration, and were already planning to visit the museum on our last day. Coincidentally, it was a rainy day, so walking Central Ave or the scenic routes were out, so the museum worked out great. It is set in Mid America park, which is very different than the other location located in Little Rock. The building is very large, so you never feel crowded. There are several exhibits, all laid out in specific categories and sections. The Tesla Theater with the "world's most powerful tesla coil" (their words) was very fascinating. For adults, the $12 combo pack gets you admission to the Tesla Theater and the virtual simulator (a bit outdated, but still very cool). We didn't visit the available snack bar, but if you get hungry, I am sure you can overpay for a bland hot dog or hamburger (see my review on Bubbalu's for a good hot dog/burger place in downtown Hot Springs). Overall, we both enjoyed our visit, and it is a fabulous place for kids of all ages, and adults can have a lot of fun as well.

“VERY cool experience!”
Reviewed July 24, 2011

Even though we are from Houston (and spoiled by awesome museums here), we decided to visit MASM late in our vacation week, to get a break from the summer heat in Hot Springs. WOW! This place was every bit as awesome as the Houston Children's Museum, with very different exhibits than we've seen before. My kids absolutely loved it and were thoroughly entertained for about 4 hours. They would've happily stayed longer if it hadn't been close to closing time. (We did the Alligator Farm earlier in the day.) The plaques next to each exhibit were wonderful for instructions and then explaining the science behind each cause/effect. My kids learned so much and were actively engaged through our whole visit.
