“Beautiful Building”
Reviewed March 10, 2013

This was a very nice building, with a great gift shop and informative movie (although they really do need a better theater). Not what you would expect from a National Park, it's on a busy street, but you do get the sense of like what it was like 100 years ago with tourists coming from all over for the bath services. Think I would have enjoyed it even more, and gotten more insight, had I been able to take a tour of the local area - or actually use the baths!

“Interesting Tour”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

Touring a bathhouse is not what I would expect when visiting a national park. So if you are looking for scenic, this is not it. It is in the middle of a busy street in the middle of town, not out in the country somewhere. However the tour of this bathhouse is an informative look back at the history of some medical practices in this country. I found out that the most advanced "cure" for veneral diseases at this time was to bathe in a pool of mercury, patient and doctor, and usually both died. You can also see treatments for polio and hear about the founder. This is not one of my favorite national parks, but the tour was very informative and interesting and I learned something. The tour guide was very good.

“A good stop in Hot Springs”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

We love Hot Springs - and we always stop in the Fordyce visitor center - especially if we have guests. The staff is friendly, and walking through the old bath house is a stroll down memory lane.
