“Enjoyed lunch”

Wife and I had lunch at Taco Mamas. We had a hard time getting someone to seat us. We waited over 5 minutes before anyone would acknowledge us being there. It seemed as though no one was in charge. We did finally get seated and the service was great. Chips and salsa were great. I had the Mexican cocktail. It was super. I would suggest their homemade hot sauce to put into the cocktail. Draft beer was cold. Enjoyed the meal after the initial seating problem.

Green Chili burger is the amazing as well as corn quesadillas on appetizer menu. Always a wonderful experience and a must stop for us when in Hot Springs!

“Not the Best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2014

We went there last night, a Tuesday. They were more crowded than I expected. And short staffed. Took forever to get waited on. Server served us the wrong drinks. Entrees were wrong and took forever to come out. Salsa was good, chips were good. Can't say much for the puffy taco, the bottom fell out when I picked it up. Enchilada was not good and wasn't any kind of enchilada I've ever seen. Beans and rice good nut not enough. Won't be going back. Been here two years and still trying to find decent Tex-Mex. Just have to break down and go to Little Rock to Chuy's.

“Best Mexican food in Hot Springs”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2014

Everyone who lives in Hot Springs already knows this is the best, fresh Mexican food in town. Tourist need to make the off the beaten path effort to check this out. Diana Bratton has won numerous chef awards for her creations for this restaurant and also for the next door neighbor restaurant Café 1217. Her fresh salsas, especially the habanero salsa, are delicious. The guacamole is flavorful and the perfect start to your meal. The salad bowl with your choice of meat comes with leaf lettuce (not iceberg-yay!), tomatoes, rice and your choice of beans. The pinto beans are the best. Also noteworthy is the Green Chili burger. Most people don't think of ordering a burger at a Mexican restaurant but this is worth it. Every bite is perfection! Puffy tacos are another favorite with our family. My favorite is the red cabbage slaw. I will drive across town for this perfect slaw. It has a slightly spicy dressing that is not milky or heavy, and fresh cilantro and pecans. This restaurant is amazing!

“Great food, slightly off the beaten path for tourist.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2014 via mobile

I'm a local and LOVE this place! The food is impeccable! Taco Mama has food with robust flavor and it has a full bar! What more could you ask for? Located slightly off the beaten path (1217 Malvern ave), about a mile from downtown. My wife and I, both love this place.
