we enjoyed going up in the tower to over look Hot Springs. very enjoyable. There was a fire in the distance in the mountains, though thankfully all we saw was the smoke clouds. This isn't something to rant and rave over, but it was nice.

Have been planning this vacation for months and did not get to do this since it was shut down. Still getting taxed for it though!

Tower has 2 levels on which to look out. There is display showing Hot Springs history at uppermost level. Great views of the whole area

Curious about the view so I hiked up from Hot Springs and then climbed the stairs to the top. You can drive to the tower and take the elevator. The view consists mostly of wooded hills, some small lakes and the town of Hot Springs. There is no particularly memorable sight to see though. Inside the tower they have several plaques describing the history of the region. You can view from the enclosed tower or go outside for a slightly higher view.

Part of our family paid to ride to the top of the tower, while the rest relaxed in the gift shop below and walked to an observation area nearby. Either way, the view is breathtaking. In the past, we have walked up the mountain trail, but after a morning at Garvan Gardens, we weren't sure the kids would do so well with an uphill hike, so we opted to drive up. The gift shop is limited, but the staff is friendly. The tickets to go on up the tower are $7 for adults and $4 for kids.
