“Be prepared to pay.”

All the hot springs in bath house row are privately owned so unless you are prepared to pay you can't enjoy the experience of bathing in the springs. You can fill up your water bottles at one of the public taps in the main streets.

Visit Children's shop on the main street, great staff, very helpful... worth spending a few dollars extra for the personal service

Most of the bath houses are closed, but the history of Hot Springs is very interesting. The hot springs fountains are very nice. In December they were steaming a lot. The shops accross the street from the bath houses are very nice with lots of variety of things to look at and several restaurants.

I will start by saying that I have not been to the other spas on bathhouse row, however I have been to tons of other spas. I understand that the "thermal/mineral water" is supposted to be theraputic, but I didn't feel any different than any other jacuzzi. Further, I was offered ice water but never received any. (guess she forgot about me) It would be nice to put the temps above or AT the tubs instead of a small sign in the corner behind the cleaning station. Oh and they are flip-flop nazi's. They must have been sued or something because you take one step without your flip-flops you will hear about it. (even if it's just to take 2 steps to put down your towel) I felt like I was in school again being eyed and reprimanded. Also, they had 1 working hair dryer in the women's locker room. Really? I am glad I only spent $3 here (for flip-flops), and didn't spend an extra $15 for entrance, (Thanks to my hotel with gave me a voucher) I would much rather spend $35 and spend all day/night at SpaCastle w/ a 3 level, modern spa facilities w/ all the amenities, and saunas, than another free trip here. I guess the trick is to spend the money on the overprices spa treatments they offer. But I was not willing and it was crowded anyway being the day before Thanksgiving. Will not return or recommend, unless you have money to burn on spa appointments. Oh and parking btw is nuts in this area. Try to go when it's not busy, otherwise, be prepared w/ coins to feed meters.

“Step Back In Time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 11, 2012

It was so fun walking down bathhouse row reading the information kiosks. Didn't realize how much history lay within those few blocks. It was like a step back in time.
