“Another excellent New Year experience!”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

After reading some of the pans recently left for this fabulous place, I have to say that you probably get out of something, what you put into it. If you go in with a bad attitude, that will be contagious, and probably be reflected to you. On the other hand, if you go somewhere, ready to have a great time, enthusiastic and happy, guess what! The staff will be happy right back!

This is the fifth consecutive year that my husband & I have chosen to ring in the new year at the Arlington. We attend the Gala Dinner/Dance in their Crystal Ballroom, which is a fabulous experience - five courses, wine to complement, and the Stardust Big Band for dancing. Elegance, the opportunity to dress up, and be wined and dined - win, win! The filet at dinner was almost fork-tender, and the tiramisu for dessert was exquisite. Everything in-between was great, as well.

The hotel has a package deal for the Gala, which includes breakfast each morning. The first morning was a basic, but tasty breakfast. The New Year's Day brunch was excellent - a carving station, an omelet station (with fresh veggies, lots of meats, and crabmeat!), and a donut station, if you hadn't found enough to eat yet. The crabmeat was lump, fresh, and made a great omelet.

We always choose to upgrade our room to a parlor suite (for a seriously nominal price); the rooms have always been spotless and well kept up. Clean floors/walls, sheets, and towels - very comfortable, and we're able to spread out a little for our 2 days.

Please, make plans to experience this next New Year's Eve - we'd love to say hi!

My husband and I have stayed in the Arlington twice and loved it both times! Yes, it is an old hotel and being such I don't understand why people have such high expectations that this should be like the Hilton or such. While it may not be a first class place, we really enjoyed the "old timey" feel of the place. We stay in the historic room both times and were definitely not disappointed. I loved the old look of the bath rooms, the window sills, and even the elevators. The beds were SO comfortable! The pool/hot tub was a nice area too and we met some great people just sitting out there.

We were not able to eat there so I can't comment on that. However, in the lobby they keep a pitcher of ice cold water and freshly popped popcorn for you to enjoy - and we took advantage of that on those hot days! It's also in a prime location. Right next to the Hot Springs National Park and surrounded by dozens of shops and eateries.

As much as we love to try new places, we would be hard pressed to stay somewhere other than the Arlington whenever we come to Hot Springs!

Room Tip: If you like history and nature at it's most beautiful, get a historic room that faces the Hot Sp...

Filthy. Bad food. $43 for a very bad buffet GET IN GET OUT. Music for a while. Then obviously rushing us out. Tip for terrible service included plus tax. Unreal. Rooms are moldy. Bar has no glassware. Serve yourself. A real expensive mess

I and three other people went to the spa the day after Christmas. The staff on the female side was more interested in talking to each other and practically ignored the clients. My masseuse had a legitimate complaint about having to work on a party on Christmas Day and getting very little tip money because the management pocketed it, but during my massage was not the time to voice it. I could tell when I walked in that the hotel was being poorly managed. It doesn't have the grandeur it once had. I won't go back. My business will go to the Buckstaff in the future. My bath was tepid not hot, the needle shower was a stream and the staff is just going through the motions. Sad

If you are looking to step back in history then this is the place. But with the classic also comes the old. The place looks very much like it did during the booming 60's and 70's. The main seating area and bar has a band on the weekends during racing season and is lots of fun. The rooms still look and feel like the old days so if you want "fresh and modern style" then you won't like this. They still have big keys for the rooms and not the modern plastic cards. The upside is that you can walk out the door and enjoy the main shopping strip. Its a place you need to stay once but not something a return visitor would go.

We spent the night at the Arlington to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We have been coming here for our anniversary for the last several years and have never had a bad experience. The rooms are older but well maintained and clean. The location is great, close to all the attractions in the park. They have a Jazz combo in the lobby on Friday and Saturday nights, we like to just sit in the balcony and watch the people dance. This is a great place if you like staying in historic hotels instead of the usual chains.

My wife and I stayed at the Arlington for a much needed getaway from reality. We were there Labor Day weekend. The hotel was buzzing with guests. We chose an "historic" room. I didn't have any major complaints - remember historic means old. These rooms are not like new chains. We had a great time at the Arlington and we would not stay ANYWHERE else in Hot Springs. The best things about this hotel are: the hotel lobby, the lively bar, the pool (with great views of town and a cabana), and the location - you can walk all over town from the front door of the hotel. I highly recommend the Arlington if you love old hotels with all their charm.
