Heard they were under new owners and gave it a try. Appetizers: fried green tomatoes with seafood on top, and fried jalapeños were outstanding. But the ribeye, twice baked potato and grilled asparagus were fantastic. They even gave lessons on cracking crab legs! Generous portions, homemade not pre-fab anything. Too full for the homemade pies which looked divine. Great prices. Kudos to the owners. Great job.

We visited Jasons on a Sat eve after a day at the races. The original owners have reopened and we found it to be a very casual and family friendly place. My three friends all had the catfish dinner, while i had the chopped steak, and everything was wonderful. The service was excellent and we we will definatly visit again on our next trip to the races.

Ordered an oyster po'boy. Skimpy on the oysters that were a bit over-breaded, and they microwaved or did something awful to the New Orleans style bread. Instead of crunchy, it was spongy. My dinner partner ordered the chili dog that came with cold French fries. Didn't find the hot dog to be very good. How do you deliver marginal classic American food on a Friday night?

Excellent! We visited on Friday night during Lent and there were lots of fish options. The service was excellent even though it was crowded. The original owners are back and we are happy about that!!

I've been to Jason's several times over the years and have always had a very enjoyable meal. I have read some neutral and even negatives reviews that apparently came from interim owners. Our latest stop was during a very busy Saturday night with 4 children - 2 under 3 yrs old. The wait was a bit long, but the staff could not have been more help. They gave us crackers for the youngest and cocktails for adults while we waited. The food was as good as always and free fresh baked chocolate chip cookies at end of meal. Highlight of our trip as far as dining experiences.
