We found Life Wellness Resort quite accidentally, and planned to stay only 2 days, but after spending a day there decided that we had come to Vietnam for exactly this. A room that was absolutely beautiful, the sunken tub, the absolutely stunning view of a private beach (right from the tub) and the sound of the surf lulling us to sleep. Everything was perfect! So we extended our stay, and we are so glad we did!! The manager Trevor was so helpful to us every convenience at our finger tips, and thankfully so.... as we sold our house during our stay, and it went off without a hitch, even with a 15 hour time difference. We would recommend a stay here to anybody its absolutely perfect!

Room Tip: Go for the Jr suite

This resort is in middle of nowhere, next to what used to be a small fishing village (I assume...) and it's truly a miracle that such a charming place exists in this area.

If you want to go to a beach resort surrounded by nice expat bars and restaurants with 100% English speaking staff, you should choose Nha Trang or Da Nang, but if you want to be in a natural environment and away from it all, you can choose to come here.

I would imagine hiring and keeping English speaking hospitality-trained staffs would be extremely difficult here, but it's not like they cannot speak or understand you at all. Most of the staffs were pleasant and helpful.

Unfortunately, the weather was not good during our stay here, so we were stuck in our room. We went to the spa and I had the tea/sea salt scrub and because the tea that they used was so hard, it left small scratches on my legs - they should check and do something about that.

Highly recommend if you want to spend a quite, quality time with your family and/or friends.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 1F have bath tubs, but the rooms on 2F do not (but have a great view of the ocean...

Last of the places we stayed at in Vietnam. Its a place that clearly has seen better days- and in a way could be an amazing hotel. Great spot, with a rugged private beach. Secluded. Very nice spa with good treatments and very professionally run. Staff are friendly, and they do try. But the details let it down:-
i) As previous contributors point out, the mattresses are terrible. I coped, my wife didn't. One shouldn't have to "cope" on holiday- very difficult to sleep ii) Rooms are tired, clearly need a refurb- neither modern nor retro chic. Tiles are dirty etc, wouldn't take much effort to do this though iii) Staff need some training in English, especially front desk staff. Basically everyone is friendly enough when you ask for something, but are not proactive iv) Weather in December is terrible- its actually a bit cold, and rainy- so using the beach is tough. THere is nothing around the resort. Which means they should try to provide some alternative entertainment- a few more board games would be nice for example. Also why they don't provide a shuttle maybe even twice a day would do - is beyond me v) The Yoga classes were held in the hair-dressing salon which was old and moldy. We gave up after two days vi) No wifi or internet of any sort in the rooms vii) The TV kept freezing up, with terrible reception- there are only 3 viable English channels (BBC, Star Movies and HBO)- of which 1 wasn't working properly at any one time. You have to rent a DVD player for US10 a day.
We leave tomorrow- and probably 5 nights here is plenty given the lack of entertainment. As I said- could be a great hotel if you didn't feel like you were "nickel-and-dimed" all the time.

Room Tip: Don't go for the superior or deluxe rooms- go for junior suite if you can afford it.

Spent 2 nights here with my partner in November 2011. What can I say, everything was amazing from start to finish. Staff were very friendly and our room was fantastic. I loved our view of the private beach and the very comfy 4 poster bed! A big plus for this place is its beautiful private beach, we spent most of our time there. The food was also lovely, we were very happy with everything.

Room Tip: Ground floor suites have an amazing view of the beach

The location is superb, nice beach, great views. Nice infinity pool, rooms are spacious and furnished in colonial style. It all LOOKS good. But; the matrasses are the worst I have come across for years, one might as well sleep on the floor. Result, sleepless nights and backache. Staff is friendly but disorganized, slow and with zero language skills. The food is appalling; an "eclectic" mix of Italian, English, French, German, Vietnamese cuisine, all prepared to the lowest standard. Lunch for 5 took an HOUR to get served, part of the dishes wrong, bier included the top part of a ballpoint floating in it. The waiter helpfully took that out with his fingers and put the beer back on the table..... And it is a good half hour by taxi to Qui Nhon city, so escape is time consuming. because of my work I have to be in Qui Nhon every month for a day or so, have been here altogether 10-12 times, but have sworn to myself that this was the last time.
It is a really, really great location, architecture is fine, but apart from that it is Faulty Towers!

Have to say this is the cleanest beach I've visited in VIetnam in the last 20+ years .. and I've seen a lot of beaches. It's very peaceful here, the sound of the waves is a constant background music and unless you are in the Spa you cannot here and vehicles and no Hondas. The Spa does suffer from some road noise so thats unfortunate and also its mosquito city which is one buzz you could do without. Not a sign of a mosquito anywhere else in the resort.
Made a really bad decision today and took the "Eco trip down the river". Should have known better and asked for a detailed itinerary before getting into the car, though would have expected the reception to warn us when we booked especially since we have 2 kids. I had the expectation (per the tour description and the helpful receptionist) that it would be a canoe trip down the river and a traipse through the forest to get a experience the local flora & fauna. Within minutes we knew things were not as expected and thus started the comedy of errors: (1) the 1+ hour drive there, mostly traveling the journey to the airport which we'd already covered (2) the stop at the top of the hill to have the A-Z of Hotels in Quy Nhon City pointed out ... not forgetting the restaurants just next the Hotels (3) the lake with a zillion fisherman, yes we have eyes and can see there are fisherman (4) the revelation that Petrol is stored in these huge storage tanks (5) brick factory #1 (6) the industrial park with lots of big factories (7) brick factory #2 (8) a brown cow (9) brick factory #3 (10) another brown cow (10) brick factory #4 (11) a brick factory village full of .... brick factories (12) a famous paper factory ... paper is a speciality of this region (13) another famous paper factory (14) surprisingly yet another famous paper factory ...... 1.5 hours later we arrived ... not quite the Eco-experience we had envisaged .... wait where's the boat? this is not a stream .. oh yes its a Museum .. and don't we feel daft being inappropriately dressed (thanks receptionist!) and so sorry the guide who speaks English is off today but we'll try and translate (badly) ... this is a brick ... this is an old house ... we won a battle at the top of this hill ... we won another battle at the top of this hill ... we won a lot of battles ... OK so maybe things are (hopefully) lost in translation, it can't be this lame can it? no we politely decline the visit to the tourist-kitsch-shop-#! and get steered to another building where the English-speaking guide (so sorry he's not working today) has laid on a special "show". It's not worth a comment its so (un)special. There were several other buildings in this "museum" several appeared inaccessible due to the long weeds and grass on the pathways, I guess they do not get too many visitors, I think our carload helped with peak attendance for the month. Hey look there's a mountainous minority building, might as well look at that .. no we do not want to visit the tourist-kitsch-shop-#2 ... uh-oh doors locked, it must be closed, maybe the key is with the English guide who unfortunately is not working today ... watch out kids for the Honda's, that must be the performers off-home. What the ..... no we do not want to take a "rest" for an hour ... we're struggling to stay awake as it is ...where is the stream / boat / eco-tour gone? ... this was followed by an explanation that we had to travel another ?? and then we get all of 15 minutes on a boat then we'll hear about the rocks and we can take another rest. .... what the ... back to the Hotel / beach even though its raining seemed the sensible thing to do.

One would have though a decent Hotel would make a serious attempt to apologise and make amends but this is where I guess the Can-Do's stand out from the Can-Don'ts and unfortunately it was a less than lame attempt. No apology, no acknowledgment that the Co tour was not exactly eco ... but blame the girl who went as the guide.

The stay started out well, the beach is really beautiful, but the staff are seriously laking in both service and between the ears.

Room Tip: Beds like a rock There IS a kids menu, but you're unlikely to be offered it

I have stayed here now 3 times and each time I am wowed by the peace and tranquility. It is the perfect haven for doing nothing in style. Rooms are lovely with fabulous views, great staff who can't do too much for you, a smallish but heavenly pool and food fit for royalty. My only negative comment is how hard the mattresses are which only seems to worry us as we get older but the management & staff jumped in very quickly and put on more comforters under the sheets etc. The manager, Trevor, really knows his stuff as does his staff and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and special. They truly just want to help and please you. I highly recommend this resort for a romantic getaway in a truly beautiful and peaceful location.
