“Small, but it has the best fried chicken steak in Taiwan”

We went here after seeing the good reviews. However, after been to night markets in tai bei and gao xiong, this place is too small in comparison and has very limited food choices.

However, there are some unique stuff about it. For example, the food stores provide seating. In addition, there are grilled spring onion rolls, mutton soup etc. dishes that cannot be found else where. The best part is the fried chicken steak, super big (almost double the size of those in Shi Lin night market) and super tender, way tastier than all the other fried chickens in any of the night markets in Taiwan. After eating this, I probably will not buy fried chicken from other places any more.

Interestingly, of all the night markets I have been to in Taiwan, this one serves the best food, in my opinion. The food here can be found in various other night markets throughout Taiwan.

It was pouring rain when we went to the Luodong Night Market and it was still quite packed. All of the stands were open and some lines were quite long for the more popular food. Food was very high quality, very very tasty and quite inexpensive. I've been to other night markets, in Beijing for example, that specialize in the creepier looking foods just so tourists want to take pictures. Luodong market is not like that--instead it focuses on eatable Taiwanese foods that even a Western tourist will find very appealing. Obviously bring cash since no one at this market will take credit (there's an ATM at the nearby 7/11). We stayed at Hotel Kapok, which is 1/2 block from the market--highly recommend that lodging if you're up for staying the night. Thanks.

A night market with good food to eat. Must try the mutton soup if you are a mutton person. The beef steak is good too, about S$5. There is a popiah stall that handmade their popiah skin on the spot. If you happen to drop by , do try it.

Great selection of food, lots to see, but very busy indeed when we went. took us a good while to find parking however, though the multistory we eventually found was right next to the market.
