This was an poor to average hotel at best unfortunately, although it tried its best. There are lots of odd things with the hotel and nothing really lived up to expectations given the price we paid for it.

Key positives:
1) large and spacious rooms
2) staff brought a rocking crib for my 15 month old and when i said i need a cot and the rocking crib was dangerous, they said they didn't have cots but instead got a single bed which was very kind and even better
3) beautiful ornamental wooden elephants throughout the lobby
4) one of the nights my wife was unwell so the staff very kindly took some food from the buffet and delivered it to our room

Key negatives:
1) the food was generally poor, limited in choise and way too spicey (even though i am from the indian subcontinent!). It seems the restaurant is mainly catering for Indian clients (so lots of spicey vegetarian options) The restaurant is also in an aweful locaton - seems like it's in the basement floor with very low ceilings. It felt very much like eating in a dungeon!
2) the live entertainment each evening was absolutely aweful and too loud!
3) the lobby area is very weirdly set up with the main area fine, but then a seperate lobby area which looks very dated and out of place
4) the quality of furnishings in the bathroom looked extremely dated with the shower very weak and walls paper thin. This meant you could hear every flush of the toilet from next door
5) the carpet throughout the hotel is a very bright green and an eyesore
6) the layout of the hotel is bizarre with extremely long corridors and rooms in random corners
7) one of the highlights was supposed to be the indoor pool but this is tiny
8) given you're in nuwara eliya to enjoy the greenery, i thought there would be a garden next to the hotel (as the main hotel pictures suggest), but there is no such space! just the car park at the front
9) the location is poor, literally next to some residential houses which are a bit of an eyesore
10) our room location was poor. we were facing the front entrance side of the hotel so from 6am we were woken up coaches coming and dropping off new guests and late at night until 1am we could here ongoing barking of wild dogs from near the entrance
11) there is major construction going on nearby where i think another hotel is being built

Room Tip: don't stay in rooms close to the entrance as its very loud in the morning!

Family vacation. A good comfortable hotel. Staff are good and the restaurant has something for everyone in the whole family. Rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. Close to everything and we will stay here again when we go back.

Well its a Total Disaster, guest in Room No 319 will never be able to sleep as there is a constant sound of water dripping from roofs on third floor falling on roofs on ground floor, also construction work in nearby vicinity makes afternoon naps impossible
NO AC in rooms and no fans will be provided if its a bit warm
Claustrophobic people need to avoid this place
Room key cards dont function and guest will need to look out for housekeeping personnel to open room doors,
Dinning Hall is in basement and with no exhaust or AC which makes it emnate nauseating stench
If you want ur Sri Lanka Trip to be a disaster please go to this hotel
Avoid it even if you get 50% disount, it would be a better idea to stay in small hotel over looking the Gregory Lake

Room Tip: Avoid It at all costs

Stayed here for a night. Rooms are comfortably good but not luxurious. The front desk could have been slightly more efficient as they made us wait for more than 45 minutes during check -in while telling us that it would take only 10 minutes. Breakfast buffet is good with a lot of options. There is some construction happening very close to the hotel, so that made the approach road to the hotel a bit messy. Really liked the built-in radio in the rooms!

Hotel facilities were excellent and the staff very keen t help, but a little disorganized. Food was OK and location ideal for exploring the beautiful countryside. Room service was very quick and price was reasonable.
