This is a colonial style mansion house in the hills. It has a very relaxed but respectful vibe. Rooms are spacious and the bathroom is well appointed. Hot water supply is good. The room heater works well, which you will probably need if you’ve come from the lower areas of Sri Lanka, as it’s much cooler here. My room had a lovely balcony, which I enjoyed. One problem in the room though - the electricity outlets were unstable, verging on dangerous. At least two had loose wires and sparked when I tried to use them. That was a concern. Staff customer service is very good. I needed an iron, which was delivered to my room very quickly. The restaurant has a buffet style offering, for both dinner and breakfast. The food is good, service is attentive and there is a good range of options, which was appreciated. The bar is comfortable and lounge spaces are very nice - with plenty of windows and patios to enjoy the lovely gardens. There is a fabulous lounge with an open fire - wonderful! I enjoyed the atmosphere here and would come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful old hotel as part of a small group tour of Sri Lanka. Jetwing have done a great job in keeping the character of the original building (a superb old tea planters club) while still making our stay comfortable.

Again we applaud Jetwing on their environmental initiatives - drinking water in glass bottles, no plastic in the toiletries (small reusable glass bottles instead), toilet paper made from recycled wheat straw and so on. Bravo! We wish more hotels would take this on board.

Our room was large, clean and airy with feminine touches (nice for a change) and a very effective little heater as it gets cold at night in the mountains. We ate dinner in the restaurant one night which was excellent as was the breakfast each morning.

As usual Jetwing staff were attentive and professional without being obsequious. They must have a great training program as we have never had a negative experience with any Jetwing staff. They were super helpful with arranging a driver for my husband when he could not attend the group tour arranged for us that day.

The wifi was a little slow, but only in comparison to other Jetwings where it's been super fast. It was adequate for checking emails etc.

Thank you again Jetwing - 5 stars!

Who would have thought an old English/Scottish hotel in the middle of Sri Lanka. Try snooker on the 100 year old table and if you can’t play (like me) the supper patient attendant will help you. Large bright bedroom and bathroom, friendly staff....and have the high tea....just so you can say that you have.....
