“A piece of history”

A small unique hotel set in the misty mountains surrounded by farms, tea plantations and wilderness. Heritance has transformed the old building into a fascinating, comfortable and unique experience for travellers. From the detailing of brass in the floors to the smooth cage elevators and the Tea Pot tea in the rooms this place has been designed to not only please the clients but shows the wonderful skills and forethought shown by the creators of this project. As this was a return visit we were delighted to find the food of the same high standard.

Room Tip: Both deluxe and exec rooms are very good

Great style and design. The place is very green and refreshing. The hotel room is pretty spacious and clean..The rooms are bigger with all the facilities available along with a warm welcoming and friendly staff to assist you all the time.

I would recommend this for a peaceful stay.

Beautiful location, experience the tea. Unfortunately it was a bit noisy for first few days because of the upper room in house guests.

Experience how to collect the tea leaves, the process of preparing it and at the end get one free.

The Hotel, a former tea factory, is located in the highlands next to traditional tea plantations.
A nice view is guaranteed.
The rooms are equipped with eveything you need (Minibar, Tv, Heating and WIFI).
However, the food can not be recommended!

After a majestic drive up the hill - you end up in the most remarkable location with views to behold.
We were given a very nice welcome in the museum-like preserved factory setting. The staff were very efficient and friendly and were helpful in organising activities and dinner arrangements.

We had a very good snack in the bar for lunch and opted to pay extra for the dinner in the train carriage. We are both so pleased we did this - it is for couples only as a pointer. The conductor who runs the show is fantastic - he loves his job and lives the role. The food was of a very high standard indeed but it was full so make sure you book this ahead!

We were given a premium room at a corner so we had a double window. The room was nicely furnished and incredibly comfortable. Yes you can here others walking but the noise did not bother us at all. We went tea picking which cost £5 but you got some locally produced tea - worth doing.

Overall we highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to see a very different and colonial side to Sri Lanka

Room Tip: I would recommend you to for a double windowed room on the higher floors - reduces noise and increas...

What an amazing and unique place to stay! Very different from all previous hotels we stayed in but very refreshing to see.
It's location is a bit cooler/wet than the other areas in sri lanka, but thats expected/needed for the best tea.
Hotel has been converted from old tea factory, keeping all original features. It is quite a rural location but this is needed for the tea factories full effect! Rooms are cosy (with carpet!) and staff were by far the friendliest in sri lanka!
Definitely go tea plucking and make your own tea.

We unfortunately only stayed here for one night but it was a fun packed stay. We did tea picking which is must, which involved a 40 min tea picking experience, in a sari! A lovely lady showed us what to do and took some amazing photos for us. She then gave us a guided tour of the process and tea was waiting g for us the next morning at checkout.

We then returned to the hotel for lovely tea and cookies. We were very tempted by afternoon tea but had already booked the carriage dinner which was to be 7 courses.

Dinner was delicious and so much fun! The gentleman in charge was just wonderful, he stayed in character all evening and really made the experience. There are only 4 tables in the carriage so make sure you book!

The rooms were great with a shower and bath and naturally complimentary tea! Breakfast next morning was great with lots of choice.

All the staff in this hotel are so very friendly and helpful and I cannot recommend I it highly enough.
