“2 star Hotel Sold and blocked view from the rooms”
Reviewed September 27, 2013

Apple Holidays booked this hotel for me and I was terrified after seeing the room.Internet does not work in the rooms. They switch the wireless off at 10pm which is unbearable.Blocked view from all rooms. They charged me for a 3 star and offered this 1-2 star hotel.

We booked in to another hotel that was horrible, so we had a look around few others, and by far Heaven Seven was the best in the area. We stayed in room 103 that was a twin room, lovely and clean with a big bathroom and huge balcony with beautiful views. The down side of the stay was the staff spoke very little English for the hotel industry so it was hard making yourself understood. But it was a cold night and they provided a small electric heater for our room and extra blankets. The breakfast was fine, an English cooked breakfast.

This is a basic hotel but in comparison to other hotels surrounding it, it was probably the best choice. It is clean and had what we needed. The bathroom is nice, modern and clean. It has a small balcony but view will depend on which room you get, ours wasn't great.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful and overall the service is good. The food they had on their menu was all western food and it was very dissapointing, not enjoyable. Breakfast was a bit better than dinner. The wine is also terrible and there is no other option except can beer. So after the first we didn't order any more drinks. There is no atmosphere in the restaurant. We stayed 2 nights and on the second night we asked for Sri Lankan food which was very nice and tasty, but we only got a small portion. However they were more than happy to accommdate our request. I recommend asking for Sri Lankan food instead because they just do not know how to cook western food, and I guess that is understandable and i think it is common unless you stay at luxury places. I hope that they will incorporate curries into their menu, perhaps they don't realise that westerners do eat curry.

As for the rooms, well it's a basic room with unpleasant decor, no fridge or minibar, no bath mats or hand towels just bath towels. But it's clean and comfortable enough. We were warm and the wind is loud but that's not their fault. I note that their website says they are a luxury hotel with a five star chef, this is simply not the case. This is a basic budget hotel by western standards, and I can't comment on the price because it was part of a package for us so I do not know how much it was, but I'm guessing its not expensive.

It's walking distance to town if you dont mind walking back up the hill, but town isn't that exciting anyway. We went walking around town and the lake only because there wasn't really anything to do at the hotel except sit in the room.

If I was to come back to this area in the future I'd stay at a tea plantation further out of town although it would probably cost a little more.

We think this hotel is cold and misses all kind of atmosphere. The diner is not very good. The staff is clumsy. I would not reconment this hotel. The walk to worlds end is very nice to do. We saw some bear monkeys.

Its a small property with about 11 rooms. We were greeted by warm, smiling n helpful people. Our room was 203. Reception : a bit slow, we had to wait awhile before the room was ready. A hot cup of tea was served in that wintery coolness of the hills...lovely. Bed & pillows : Comfortable. Clean sheets. Heater (in the shower) was in good, working condition, excellent pressure and it was a great shower. Towels provided were clean and big. No buffet breakfast, and neither it is during dinner time. We had western breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast n coffee...it was alright. Dinner was abit disappointing...the pork was tough but the chicken with brown sauce was fairly good. As for alchoholic drinks, they only serve beer and red wine only. If you wish to have other cocktails/liquoir, you might as well buy on your own n bring along. View from our room was nothing to shout about. Perhaps you could ask rooms facing the road...then again, it might be noisy with vehicles going up n down the hilly terrains. A heater was provided in the room but the thick blankets kept us warm enough and hence, the heater wasnt switched on at all. Yes, through the cracks of the window sill, we could feel and hear the gentle gust of winds on and off. The staff showed great interest and care and we felt that it sure was a personal touch added to our stay. Our holiday was planned by Miraculous Travel House. Do contact Sharon. We stayed for 2 nights.
In general: the rooms and bathroom are o.k. but the hotel misses any atmosphere. The dinner we had was mediocre.

In the first night we were wakened by a very loud hissing noise above our room. It happened also during the next day. Looking out our window we saw a lot of steam which squirted with force. There was even steam coming out of the tap in our bathroom. After asking - no one of the hotel gave an explanation or warning - it seemed that de hotwatersystem was overheated.

The second night: the fire alarm went of. It took 10 minutes before someone from the staff reacted. Luckily it was a false alarm..... Again no excuses. The staff member was not interested at all.

Worst of all: in the evening before we left the hotel the waiter from the hotels' restaurant came to our room to made us pay for the bill of the dinner we had. The reason was, he said, that he had a day off. We were a little bit overwhelmed and paid the bill and did not get a receipt. In the morning the waiter was still at work, so no day off at all. We asked the manager, asked for a receipt and it appeared we paid too much the night before.

In short: avoid this hotel. The town has a lot of better options.

Stayed with our family for one night. In one of rooms the windows were leaking wind, also the rooms were realy cold. We couldn't sleep well, because the wind outside was very noisy. However the rooms were clean.
Dinner was bad, it was a la carte choice between chicken or pork. Roasted chicken was good, but the pork was very fatty with a little of meat.
Staff is friendly.
Wi-fi is kind of slow.
