“Beautiful walks!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

We went there in pouring rain and clouds, but when we came up at the national park the clouds dissappeard. Really nice and a somewhat odd landscape. We saw some of World's end between the clouds and a big waterfall. Also saw some sambar deer and lot of birds (endemic!). Make sure you take the path the right way so you have to climb less at the end (first the waterfall, than worlds end and little worlds end).

“A super delight!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013

You are just mesmerized by the sight of this place. A cloud forest that too reachable by just walking and no climbing. Just sitting there and feeling clouds on your face is an amazing experience. A must must go and pray that you land there in conducive weather.

“Place of Mist........”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

I have probably visited this place more than 20 times and this is one of the places I love in this country. When you reach here you may wonder whether you are actually in Sri Lanka or somewhere else. You could book bungalows through Wild Life Conservation Department and your visit is not complete if you do not stay up in Hortan Plains. The weather changes so quickly you would wonder from where that comes down and suddenly disappears. If you are lucky enough then you may see a leopard and there are other types of animals as well. Place is well known for some of the rare birds and beautiful flowers.

“Breathtaking Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

We stayed the night before at the bungalow inside the park so it was easy for us to start the hike real early. You need to get there early before 9:00 am since the fog rolls in around that time and you don't see anything. We were able to experience the clear views before the fog.

“Get there at dawn, and take your chances”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2013

I went here some ....14 years ago now (the drop-down won't let me put in the right date) and it was something I still remember vividly, We rose early for the 4x4 journey to near the top, then began our walk. Only 20-30 minutes as I recall.

Getting there just as the sun rose and the clouds parted was extraordinary and justified the early start.

After all is said and done, it is *just* a view, but on the right day, it's a view you will see nowhere else.

On a cloudy day, I imagine it would be disappointing, but for me it was something to treasure.
