It is not the grand canyon, nor the table mountain of Cape Town or the Alps in Europe. But it is a pleasant hike. And even a bit pricy (~20USD/person) it is worth it since there is not much more to do in Nuwara Eliya ;)

Located in the Hortons National Park, World' end offers views of the nearby mountain ranges and tea plantations around the vicinity. The views are nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. Most hilly locations would have views like this or even better for that matter.
The national park is home to some serene vegetation and small water falls. The 3 hour trek is relatively easy for both the young and old.
The park can get largely covered in fog even in later parts of the morning making it difficult to get far off views and also reduces good photo opportunities.

This is a great hike. That's all there is to it. Its a Unesco site for a reason. You hike through plains and grasslands and see sambar deer before you ascend into cloud forest to see Worlds End. Go as early as possible and understand if it is a cloudy day, or after 9am, you probably won't get the view. It was rainy when we went but we were briefly able to catch the hills through the clouds and see part of the cliff.

It is an easy hike, but it is a hike. You are hiking over uneven terrain and broken trails for almost the entire trip. It is doable by anyone though. We saw entire Sri Lankan families with kids making the trip. And we even saw a French family carrying a 6 month old baby!

Its a park that is well worth the price of admission (which is very cheap)

Horton Plains National Park and everything it includes (Mini World's End, The World's End, Baker Falls etc) is a place I would recommend to anyone. Views are breathtaking, and the hike (which is quite exhausting) is very enjoyable.
A very different climate compared to other parts of Sri Lanka - more European.
Also, it's important to get there very early as mist might prevent you from seeing anything at the World's Ends sites.

World's End is hyped up for good reason — the 870m vertical drop is truly breathtaking. We were lucky enough to trek up on a clear day and even caught a glimpse of the sea on the horizon. Truly a must-do in Nuwara Eliya!
