This is not a hotel it is a wonderful house which you can treat as your home whilst staying there. After a long climb up the hill we were welcomed by the fantastic staff who could not do enough to help us. The house has been wonderfully restored to its original splendour and is the ideal place to get away from it all. The food is some of the best we have had on our trip so far (2 weeks and 4 hotels so far!) and the highlight was an invitation to go into the kitchen to meet the chef and see him prepare our evening meal. We now have to try to remember what he put into each dish!! On the night that the house was full it was just like a dinner party at home and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We would love to return to Warwick Gardens and it's wonderful staff. Well done.

This is truly a world away! As you pull up (the VERY steep and winding road) you cannot believe you are in the middle of a tropical island. Our wonderful guide, hansa@feellanka.com, booked us into this amazing stop and we are so grateful, as we wouldn't have found this gem on our own. The small, intimate hotel truly makes you feel you are staying in a residence, and the staff is so kind and accommodating. The food is also outstanding with much of the menu grown or raised on site. A lovely and relaxing stop!

First of all - yes, the road is a little bit rogh and narrow ( for european standards, but don't forget you probablyhave a Sri Lankan driver and they are used to these roads...) but by far not as scary as some reviewers said....
And it's really worth to go there, surrounded by a dramatic landscape - a mixture of scottish highlands and Hobbit's Valley you find yourself in a british villa, that gives you the feeling "Lord and Lady" left just minutes before - each room is furnished elegantly, with open fire places and splendid bathrooms.
The staff - especially Vijiit and Mina - make you feel you are guest in a private house.
The food, all vegetables come from the properties own gardens, is outstanding. You share e table with the other guests, which gives the opportunity to exchange information about activities...
Get up early, to experience the sunrise!!!! You' ll love it!!
If I could voice a wish - I would suggest to build a SPA Pavillion somewhere on the property - with some "Tea related Spa treatments" , Sauna or Steambath you could spend weeks there.....

Room Tip: Each room has its very special charm - all of them are just great!

The Warwick gardens is a beautifully restored nineteenth century house set in a tea plantation high up in the mountains. The road to reach it is windy and rocky which caused our driver some anxieties in the rain. Once there you are welcomed by the staff with tea. Rooms are large and there is a wonderful drawing room with a grand piano and a communal dining room with a chandelier. Some of the decoration is rather tired. We were in the Bramaer room on the first floor which had a lovely view but only twin beds and no wardrobe. It was fine for one night but if you're staying longer try to book the Warwick room which is more spacious, light and has a bath.

Room Tip: The Warwick room is definitely the best. Check whether your allocated room has a wardrobe!

We stayed here for (sadly only) one night in December - 24th to be precise. So we got the full gala dinner experience. The whole experience was delightful - enhanced by our companions at the communal dining table. Wonderful food; subtle, gentle and attentive service from the whole staff team.
We occupied the two suites, and both are delightful.
As other reviewers have said - it gets chilly, especially at night. So fill up the enormous bathtubs and wallow, light the fires and warm up, pour yourself a large scotch and relax!

Room Tip: Either of the suites are worth the money.

Excellent place well run and well managed ...with excellent staff who cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable. It is actually seems above the clouds. As it was nearing Christmas ...like every where else they had a beautifully decorated tree in the lounge which added to the ambience of open fire and a brandy!!!
Do stay here if possible....the last 12 kms is not that good but the driver was very good and we didnt feel unsafe at all.
We thoroughly enjoyed being there. Not busy which was a shame... .. people are sent to city hotels rather then given a chance to enjoy the countryside.

This one villa property boasts outstanding views of the tea country in Nuwara Eliya heights with exceptional views of the valleys surrounding this lush region of tea plantations. The ride to the hotel is not an easy one from the main road, but it is not as scary as some of the reviews had indicated, may be just at some points were the tyres of the big van were way too close to the edges of the road, but I trusted our driver!
So after one does arrive to the hotel, a sense of exclusivity is punctuated by the lack of wifi and many other signs of connecitivty, and the calm surroundings. Add to this mist in the morning and at night and religious chants from a nearby Hindu temple at night and the feeling of having travelled far becomes real. The hotel has several different types of rooms, but all beautifully decorated with fine details that preserve the site. The dining room is certainly English or Scottish in its layout and style and has one large table only- so you should cross your fingers to get along with the other guests, but the hotel is so small that it is not really an issue. We enjoyed very much the lady whom we met at dinner table. Throughout the stay, I felt like I was a guest at someone's home and this feeling was all the more pertinent when one appreciates the paintings and the attention paid to the wood work and tapestry collected from Venice and other cities of the world.
Service was very good and the chef was brilliant. I changed my food choice at the last moment and he not only accommodated my last minute change he perfected my Sri Lankan curry fish dish. I visited the kitchen before the dinner and it was very nice to see how he was preparing himself for evening cooking. It is worth noting that the dinner served that night was entirely from the organic garden of the hotel! It was tasty too!
One point that may improved: The interest of the area is walking through the terrace farms and tea plantations which are abundant on the estate. So just before starting the walk, an attendant told us we should be able to find our way without a problem, it turned out to be that there were no signs at all to indicate our way back to the hotel and the sunlight began to give way to fog and mist - this generated some anxiety among some of us walking especially since we could not come across people who can help us find our way back in a calm and uninhabited area. Luckily we made it back and found our way before dark, but I really think that something inexpensive (arrows/signs) may be put in place to avoid a more serious incidents.
Other than that, I loved the stay here and would certainly recommend the Jetwing Warwick Gardens!

Room Tip: All the rooms have great views! Some overlook the valley and others the organic garden.
