We stayed here for 3 days then visited Yala and came back for another 4 days the food is outstanding especially the desserts. The pools are both stunning and the wild life around it are amazing we saw several Squirrel type cute and friendly and several large reptiles. The staff are very friendly always happy and willing to help. The rooms very tasteful we had room 257 and 304 I like 304 best it is a little smaller than the others but the views of the sea and pool more than compensate. They also made a Birthday Cake for me which was much appreciated.

Room Tip: Take plenty of Mosquito repellent we where badly bitten. Beware of the locals who trawl the beach and wont take no for an answer we also found it impossible to go out of the hotel to look around again the locals are a pest, however there is nothing within walking distance and we did not feel brave enough to take the Tuk Tuks

We booked this hotel through an agency based on their recommendation. Stayed two nights.
We loved the place. The hotel design is unbelivable. Stunning as you arrive at the reception. The blue pool and sea are seen in one veiw. Great. The rooms were large and very comfortable with wifi. Resturant and food very good. There are 4 restaurants. The most striking thing was the service. Unbelivable. People so responsive and freidly. I saw reviews from past years complaining about the service. I guess they made a big change. Bottom line - one of the best hotels we have visited. You have everything, great facilities, great pools great beach and great service.

Room Tip: We had a roon facing the beach.

We were met with cool drinks and cold flannels after a long trip from the North of the island.
The staff were wonderful although there was some confusion with us being all inclusive (some of the staff did not quite get the meaning of this).
We were upgraded on arrival to a beautiful room overlooking the pool and the sea.
The rooms were clean and tended twice a day by very friendly staff who took great pleasure in arranging our towels into numerous animal shapes.
The food in the restaurants was always beautifully presented and there was plenty of choice for everyone We were apprehensive as although we eat curry my husband is not a huge lover of it so we were delighted with the choices we had. .
The staff were again exceptionally good and eager to please,
We had an early pick up and the staff were kind enough to make us a packed breakfast to take with us.

Room Tip: Rooms furthest from the reception are the quietest.

This place was the highlight of the trip. The place is very well designed, amazing architecture. Although there was a slight glitch when we checked in, one of the 4 rooms we had booked wasnt ready. They literally took 2 hours to set the place up but it smelt really nice and it was worth the wait.
Stepped out into the balcony and saw an elephant being bathed. then there were horses running in circles in the compound. It was amazing also because I got to share the view with my neices and nephew who were wth us. The breakfast was decent. Lots of fruits, be sure to feast on them when in srilanka. there's an outside-yet-inside sort of sitting area near the pool, connects to the bar. sometimes monkeys ( some variant ) sit on the tree tops but they're harmless and quite cute when u consider that they arent threatened by the development.
Be wary of the touts on the beach. They're harmless but they tend to annoy u a bit, especially the ladies who are selling some thing or the other and they'll stick to you unless you can politely and firmly tell them that you arent interested.
there's a seafood place on the beach, didnt check it out but drove around 20 mins to another seafood place which wasnt that bad but a bit overpriced.
I would recommend this to people who can pay the premium. There are other options though if ur on a budget, closer to the last town you'll pass on the way to heritance.
And, other than the curtains there are shutters which shut u off from all any light which might finds it way inside. the balcony is spacious too.

Room Tip: there are two pools. to the left of the entrance, the structure is different. to the right is where ul find the other pool and villa options etc.

The reception area is large and open with beautiful views out to sea. The staff are welcoming and immediately cannot do enough for you. We arrived tired and fed up after finding no room for us at Jetwing Lighthouse despite a booking being made April 2012 (see separate review). The hotel was about to welcome the Sri Lanka and Bangladeshi international cricket teams and although there was great excitement we were made to feel just as important. We were told there would be extra security but this did not affect us at all. Bearing in mind we were not expected we had a fabulous 3rd floor upgraded room overlooking the sea and the pool.

The choices at dinner and breakfast could not have been better and when I asked for some French cheese the chef apologised and said he would try and get some for the morning. Although it did not appear at breakfast the enthusiasm was there.

Great hotel, great location.

Room Tip: Choose high floor ocean view
