“Beautiful Island & Tree Lined Road”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

Nami Island is famous for its beautiful tree lined roads. The island is 30 minutes away from Chuncheon and an hour away from Seoul. December is a perfect time to travel. The snow and christmas design is very fantastic. They have a very delicious food in the restaurant.

“Winter sonata!”
Reviewed July 8, 2014 via mobile

Finally after 10yrs the drama screened on tv (i was only 13), we went to Namiseom for our honeymoon. Although not winter it was beautiful enough when we went during spring. Some of the snow fountain haven't melt. There are two ways to get there: by ferry or if you are adventerous go by skyline. It was super expensive though. As for the island it has so much to offer. Do take lots of pictures and within an hour you can probably walk from one end to the other.

“Summer Sonata”
Reviewed July 8, 2014

Pro:
Beautiful island. Amazing scenery. Lots of photogenic places. May even be better in other seasons beside summer.
Lots to see; shows, shops, exhibits, galleries, playgrounds, etc.
Almost a shrine for those who worship the K-drama, Winter Sonata.
Zip-line express to the island looks really awesome. Especially for thrill seekers. Wish I could have tried it.
Take a round island tram or UNICEF choo-choo train to explore the island.
A few nice café you can chill out in.
Nice place to pack a picnic basket.
Grab a (free) Korean book to browse at almost every corner of the island.
Send a Namisen stamped postcard to yourself or get the souvenir Republic of Namisen currency.

Con:
Touristy.
Will take 1.5 hrs by metro from Seoul to reach the jetty.
Lots of walking required to explore the island.

“Pleasant Day trip, beautiful.”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

Nami Island was a fun place to visit in Korea. It was beautiful with lots of walking. There are plenty of shops, shows, museums, and art exhibits on the island. There is an option to zipline to the island, but the line is very long. The zipline starts at 10am if I remember correctly.

I recommend bringing your own water as there is a lot of walking. Some restaurants are a little on the expensive side, so make sure to check the menu prices before sitting down and committing.

I recommend getting to the island earlier rather than later. This way you can enjoy walking around, have lunch, and then head back before it gets too crowded. You could spend the whole day there if you really wanted to, but we found that half a day was more than enough for us.

Being in the military, we booked our trip through the IT department. However, you can just buy tickets on location without having any previous reservations.

“Beautiful island of greens”
Reviewed June 28, 2014

The island is simply a beauty with those towering trees and the lovely lake that surrounds it. The place is also great for a family picnic and just let the kids run around or maybe rent a bike. I would advise to visit the place early to avoid the surge of tourists who would compete with you to get the best spot around the island. It was an early morning when I went to this island and upon arriving at Gapyeong Station I knew that I'm already at a countryside. There are very few people around and the bus stop at front is somewhat deserted. Take the Gapyeong tour bus (hop-on/hop-off bus) for 5000won and it'll drop you off at Nami Island Ferry dock. Once you're done touring the island, take the same bus to other tourist spots around Gapyeong like Le Petit France.
