Have you watched Winter SOnata? maybe one of the famous korean Drama that has gone international.. if you watched it, then this is a must visit place when in South Korea

Nami Island is located about 1.5hrs from Seoul.. Beautiful in Winter, Spring and Autumn.. but most likely crowded in winter.

To reach this place, you can use shuttle bus and paid around 23K. the shuttle bus depart from Jamsil Station and Insa-dong(Near Tapgol Park). The ticket is already include for shuttlebus and ferry ticket.

Please be careful, because if you're using shuttlebus, you have to get back to the bus before 4pm..

Not much to see if you're not winter sonata fan.. but the scenery itself was amazing .

avoid visiting in weekend, and prepare for mineral water, because not too many stores nearby.

In my 6 days 5 nights stay in Seoul, I squeezed a day to travel to the Nami Island. It's a very good spot to change the theme for my shop-N-eat around trip. I went there in mid-January. It was -10 degree C but no wind at all. So it was still comfortable to walk around the island in such a low temperature. We saw Ostrich and rabbits there. The scenery in white was gorgeous. But it would be great if we can come again in autumn to see the yellow & red leave scenery and enjoy cycling under such romantic scenery. There is no bicycle for rent in winter. It was still great that we prepared some snack and hot drink and picnic there. When we went there, we saw that some calender posters showing the great scene of Nami Island being stocked and delivered near the ticket box on the pier. However, there were too many people squeezing for the posters. Luckily, we got them in the tourist information centre on the Island.

Visiting Nami Island was on my to do list when I planned this visit to Seoul. As a fan of anything Korean (pop, dramas, food etc) I've wanted to see this place because of the drama Winter Sonata :). Well this place didn't disappoint. It was in January and cold but the place is so beautiful. It actually snowed a few days before our visit so just like in the drama, it was covered with snow!! They have campfires, arts, ice sculptures spread through out the place. It was so nice, crisp and peaceful.

The scenery in Nami Island is very pretty. We went there late November of 2012. The weather is really nice, it was cold but refreshing cold because of the trees and the body of water surrounding the island. It was really beautiful since animals such as squirrels are free there. The yellow and red leaves from the trees are really really beautiful. And then we went into the site where the statues of the lead actors in Winter Sonata were. We really enjoyed it there and would want to come back and maybe try using the zip line to get to the island for a little adventure.

We went smack in the middle of winter at -13'C (to experience the Winter Sonata feel) but we could have covered more ground if we went on a less chilly season. We had great pictures but I'd come back on a spring or autumn just to really stay and enjoy the place more..
Metro has opened the rail connection from Jamsil. Its the cheapest route but about 4-5 exchanges from Myeongdong Stn. We took the 7.5USD shuttle bus to Insadong going home.
I wish to come back again...
