The Black Crow is probably going to be the closest you're going to get to elevated cuisine in Beatrice. The beer is typical city prices for a bottle ($4-5) and all the dishes seemed to be $18-$19 no matter what was in them. I had the special of the evening which was a pasta with a rosemary cream sauce with beef tips and mushrooms. It was pretty good, but definitely overpriced. The salad employed one of my least favorite tricks of including spring mix greens on top of iceberg and the balsamic vinaigrette tasted bottled rather than made in house. Overall, it's a good meal in Beatrice, but you pay for it.

After hearing a few of our clients mention this place in beatrice we thought we'd take the drive and try out the black crow. What a disappointment. Service was slow, meat was dry, and I've never seen a restaurant serve such abysmal salad. Yes, there is a slight ambiance to being in an old building downtown but even that was a let down. Dark, dusty, and the shoddy restoration work. The server was sweet enough, however one nice server won't prompt a return trip as we barely touched our food. If zero stars was an option this place deserves it. Honestly, how do you serve wilted, brown salad at the prices they charge?!

The town of Beatrice is fortunate to have such an establishment as the Black Crow. It draws in customers from Lincoln and Omaha on a regular basis. They have a variety of luncheon specials daily (soups, quiche, salads) at very reasonable prices. Evening meals are more expensive, but no more than what you would pay at a nice restaurant in Lincoln. Their pastas, seafood and desserts are wonderful. Overall, the Crow provides the most consistent dining experience in town.

The Black Crow has a nice atmosphere, but the food wasn't as good as I expected. There were 4 of us and we ordered prime rib. The waitress came back and said that there was only 1 order left. Granted we did go there at 8:30pm. I had a sirloin steak. The flavor was just ok. One of my business partners ordered the gamish hen and wasn't impressed. Another ordered a sirloin steak also, and found it to be rather grisly.

This is one my favorite restaurant. Their Medetarrian selection and salads hit the spot and the tomato soup is so unique.
