The staff treated us like the only guests at the hotel. They remembered our names, welcomed us like we were royalty on our first night, and told us they would genuinely miss us when we left. The food was quite good at the restaurant and we chose to have meals at the restaurant vs having room service because we enjoyed interacting with our server, Lisa, so much. If you prefer room service they deliver it to your bungalow and you can dine on your own private balcony with a beautiful view and lots of privacy. You have complete privacy in your bungalow and rarely run into any other guests except on the walk up/down the stairs to get to the lobby, restaurant or the yoga classes. I enjoyed yoga and it was closest to hatha (light stretching). The shuttle service is a SUV that takes you into Ubud by a very kind driver with lovely music playing in the background and water available for drinking. This is a lovely hotel! My only drawback is that you have to sleep with the bug netting down over the bed because bugs can get in the room if the doors are left open for even a minute.

Restaurant Tip: The onsite restaurant is delicious and accommodates vegans! I had an amazing rice with vegetables dish that was dairy and animal free.

Room Tip: There are a lot of stairs if you are in the lower rooms. If you'd prefer not to walk a lot of st...

We arrived on 12th Dec 2012. It's our first day in Bali for our honeymoon. Little did we know that this is a brand new hotel that opened its door for public for the first time on 1st Dec 2012. We are welcomed by the hotel manager. Very attentive and kind even apologizing because the TV is not ready yet. He offered complimentary massage and dinner. To our delight, the room (the villa) is very spacious and very naturally decorated. Not forget to mention the bathroom and the Jacuzzi. It's paradise. I'm glad my husband chose to book this place. When we came back from Kintamani, we are surprised by the dinner preparation. We never thought that they would go that far. It's a very romantic dinner (I forgot to say that on that particular night, we are the only guests, so it totally feels like the whole place is reserved for us). In the morning, the breakfast was another unforgettable experience. The food were fresh and delicious, combined with the scenery it became so perfect. Hope one day we can come back again. Thanks to all of the attentive staff. We love your smile and hospitality. My apology, I should write this review earlier when I still can remember your names, nevertheless, i just want to say that you are wonderful.

Beautiful villas with extremely friendly staff. Beautiful area tucked in the jungle with the most beautiful forests surrounding you. The villas are quite large each with a beautiful view and large deck. I highly recommend.

This resort is brand new and tucked into the hills very close to an active volcano and just 30 mins away from Ubud by car.
The staff here are second to none with their friendly personalities and attentiveness. They definitely played a great role in our amazing time here in Bali.
The rooms are beautiful and peaceful with a supremely comfortable bed, and the bathroom is fit for a king!
The food at the restaurant is delicious and it is here that I tried my first "soto ayam", I've fallen in love with this soup and ordered it everywhere we ate, but the first one I had at Puri Sebatu was still the best i've ever had.
I would come back to Bali just so I can stay here again!

Room Tip: I'd definitely suggest booking a room higher up on the hill so you don't have to walk so far...

Please forgive the long review, but I want to mention everything here as it deserves nothing less, it's a paradise and I am honoured to have been one of the first guests.

Think Indiana Jones meets Elizabeth Taylor - it's perfect for those who seek adventure but want the luxury. it's not hard to feel as if you're the only person living in the surrounding jungle, a jungle that you discovered, then a 30 second walk you are sitting in a gorgeous hotel bar watching the sun set over the volcano. Stories are made of this.

The rooms are incredibly spacious and luxurious, the bathrooms could sleep a family of 20 and the bath is an experience in itself, i could happily sleep here and still give the resort 5 stars. The netting around the bed is handy at night as being wet season, the moths are slightly annoying, but don't be put off, it's incredibly romantic and even if you travel on your own (as i am), it feels like a cocoon at night, you feel so safe, it's just so so nice.

The food would be served in any michelin starred restaurant in London and a gourmet main will set you back £6 ($9 / 90,000 Indonesian Rupee)… i actually had to ask the staff twice and tell me the price in dollars as i refused to believe its low cost.. Breakfast is really generous and a feast for the tastebuds.

I have been doing yoga every morning with Wayan who is just brilliant and she makes it so easy to learn (i'm a beginner). The staff are what makes the place a palace, they are the kindest, happiest, sweetest people i've ever met and have not only made me feel at home, but they time out from their days off to personally show me Bali and introduce me to experiences that no hotel would offer, for no cost, they are just so happy to share Bali with you. There is no request too crazy for Agus who I cannot speak highly enough for, he is wonderful, and Daisy who speaks fluent English is an absolute asset to any hotel, she has personally organised everything from religious experiences to showing me how to pick fruit from the local produce and all for absolutely no cost, she has made this stay first-class, i've totally lost track of time and it's great.

The only thing i fault are the moths, and that is just a normal part of Bali and will be in every hotel. It's so good here that i've extended my stay for another week and possibly even longer.

A true Utopia
