Four of us stayed at Kampung Resort for two nights following many previous visits to their fantastic restaurant. So glad we have finally experienced all that Kampung has to offer for longer than a dining experience.
My wife and I stayed in one of the Deluxe rooms, with my wifes mother and sister in Hilltop Suite room. Deluxe are the newer modern rooms with polished timber theme for floors roof and fittings. Huge room with lounge setting and television one end, big bathroom with separate bathtub at other end. Bathtub along with floor to ceiling windows along length of room overlook the infinity pool, jungle and valley beyond.
Hilltop Suite room more traditional Bali marble feel, even bigger again with the two beds and bathroom separate to day bed and sitting area with additional balcony all running full length of room and all overlooking jungle and valley.
The Tegallalang rice field shops, lookouts, restaurants and walking tracks are all within around 500 metres walk from Kampung.
The food and meals at Kampung are all delicious with many ingredients coming fresh from owner Made's garden.
They offer free drop off and pick up into Ubud and transferred us into Ubud at end of our stay.
Free wifi works well, housekeeping first rate, grounds and gardens are all so beautiful. Peace and tranquility with helpful, friendly staff all eager to assist however they can.
Made the owner is indeed a great host and was happy to sit and chat with us and talk of Bali. His pride in Kampung and his staff is evident. My sister in law and I had finished a walk from one side of rice fields to the other and whilst walking along village road Made saw us and offered to drive us and show us a couple of villas he has designed and is building in Kampung Village on other side of valley.
I highly recommend a visit to Kampung to eat or stay.

This was our first time in Bali and we decided to stay in Ubud because we wanted something away from the crowd and nose and The Kampung Resort is away from all of that. It is located in very remotely within beautiful surroundings, overlooking the rice fields and rainforest, the temperature was also very mild in comparison to other areas in Bali we visited.
When we arrived our suite was located right at the other end of the resort which meant walking down about 50 very steep steps (anyone with a bad leg or walking down steeps, make sure you no which room you will be allocated in advance), the bell boys were very helpful. The River valley room had great views but we just could not do this walk up and down for four days so decided to room moves, the staff were very attentive and let us move rooms. All the staff were very helpful, they decorated our room as it was my wife's birthday which was a lovely surprise.
The resort also provide free transportation if you are travelling around the area and can organise tours which include the transportation and driver which was again was great and saved us time.

Anyone that does have allergy's to dogs then Kampung Resort probably is not somewhere you want to stay as they have a security and pet dog in the resort, they both usually stay around the restaurant and reception area. Our room had loads of ants and other insets which made us feel uncomfortable, the resort did not do anything to fumigate the room.

Overall out stay was great and the food was fantastic (we could not fault it), the inclusive breakfast was also lovely. If you are passing through the area it definitely is worth a trip for either lunch or dinner.

Room Tip: Hill top valley suites are better suited with those with a family, young children or perhaps more el...

Kampung is located down the street from Villa Sarna and we ate here our last night in Bali-- my only regret is that it was already dark when we arrived as the views in this area are indeed spectacular. We enjoyed our meal and the service was wonderful. It was a quiet night, probably because it was the off season and a bit later, but we enjoyed the sounds of the jungle and the few other diners that were there. I love dogs and was especially pleased to see their beautiful and well behaved dogs napping near our table. We would definitely return for a meal and perhaps to stay as we learned while we were dining that they had a guesthouse on premises.

Thank you for visiting our cafe, yes, unfortunately the view is not so clear during the night time. Hopefully you would be back again to our cafe and to stay at our resort during your next holiday in Bali.

Thank you.

We, 2 couples, recently stayed at Kampung Resort Ubud for 11 nights of our Bali holiday. It was everything we hoped for! We've been to Bali a number of times and were returning with friends. We were wanting a comfortable place outside of Ubud itself to stay and Kampung really fit the bill in all respects it was more than we could have hoped for. Rooms were very good, gardens & restaurant wonderful and such lovely staff. Thank you so much Made for sharing your unique resort with us and for making our recent holiday such a memorable one! We stopped at The Kampung Resort Ubud for lunch, on our way to see the volcano, and had one of the best lunches of our stay. The location is fantastic, overlooking the jungle. Food was fresh, tasty, well presented, and service was great. Do not miss the banana desserts with a good coffee, they were fantastic. Well worth a break in your busy day.

Room Tip: The hotel looked great, but we did not have the opportunity to try it.

We love this place, thank you to the kind owners for their generous hospitality. We booked with Expedia got a good rate, the room was huge and with wonderful sliding windows with a view of the jungle. The pool is gorgeous and the grounds are immaculately kept. We stayed for 4 nights with our baby and they made baby food for him every day, which was wonderful, thank you to the chefs. We ate every day and night there, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable.

The owner has picked and made amazing contemporary Balinese furniture, he also has his own sculptures in each room.

The staff were really amazing, so friendly and made our stay a pleasure. The staff will drive you to Ubud free of charge.

A 5 min walk from the resort you can see the amazing rice fields, however it is a bit touristy, even though you feel like you're in the middle of no where.

I would recommend anyone to stay here for a relaxing, tranquil and beautiful stay. Thank you to all the staff and the owner.

Location is fantastic, set among mountains and beautiful gardens and walking distance to Tegalalang rice terraces. This location is much better than Ubud itself which is just all shops & hustle.
Kampung cafe's food is amazing, as good as any Indonesian we ate in Bali but also very unique. There is also a couple of little hidden away gems to eat at beyond the main strip of Tegalalang, which you can walk between via the rice terraces, which is a great way to spend the afternoon.
The staff are extremely helpful without being too noticeable and the owner is very genuine and knowledgeable.

Room Tip: Expensive rooms have best views but cheaper rooms are closest to the pool, so nobody misses out. Exp...
