“Great scenery, nice hotel but should stay away from their restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2014 via mobile

Our stay at shawah Indiah was quite pleasant, the surroundings are absolutely lovely which made the stay pleasant, also our rooms came with rather spacious terraces :)
The staff is very nice.
This being said, the restaurant (for breakfast lunch and dinner) is quite bad. Their morning omelets are pretty small, their toasts not that good, and seemed a little stale, finally their pancakes are just terrible since they are made with crepe batter, therefore the 'pancakes' are under cooked and hard go digest.
The food we had for dinner was a little better but sometimes hard to appreciate because of all the little bugs...
Great hotel but try the restaurant of another hotel nearby maybe ;)

The setting of the hotel, amidst rice paddies and with Mount Agung looming over it is absolutely gorgeous. The infinity pool is wonderful and so was my room which was very small but got the job done. The problem here is the food. My food came with an ant and a hair in it. Beyond what was actually IN the food, it just wasn't very good. I walked in to the kitchen on two occasions and the place is quite dirty. I told the hotel while checking out and they seem to know there is a problem there.

we stayed for two nights but only 5 minutes after arriving I knew we should have booked for a longer period. This place in Sidemen was one of the highlights of our four weeks stay in Bali. Surrounded bij sawah's, the beautiful room with it's view. The lovely people that work there and made us feel more than welcome. Also I would like to recommend the chakkra massage. Manku, the healer from a nearby town gave me and I my husband a unforgettable treatment. On a physical but also spiritual level. Everything, the garden, the pool, the nice restaurant, the drive up there, leaves a footprint our hearts. For us a pure en unforgettable experience of Bali. We will visit Sawah Indah next time in Bali, at least for a week.

We stayed for two nights in May. Th hotel is lovely, with a gorgeous pool, overlooking the rice fields. Coming from Ubud, this was a perfect stopover before we went on to the Gili islands, easing us into an even slower and more relaxed pace. Our room as on the ground floor, with beautiful wood carving doors and a private terrace. Our views were good, but they are probably even better from the higher rooms. There is a little fridge in the room, mosquito nets, and a fan. It was all fine, it was cooler than in Ubud overnight. The only downside would probably be the mattress in our room, which was very soft and a bit saggy, but it didn't matter much for a couple of days. We spent some time in the pool, lounging in the day beds dotting around the gardens, and walked through the rice fields- though if you want to do a more serious walk, you really do need a guide-we got very lost and ended up with very muddy feet and some impressive scratches on our legs- it was fun, but we didn't care about not getting anywhere....

Room Tip: upstairs rooms probably have even more spectacular views.

It is one of the best weekend gateway I ever had with my little family, this beautiful Sawah Indah Villa bring a lots of memories of Bali back in 20 years ago, quite, peaceful, green, no traffic. The infinity pool overlooking to the natural scenery of rice terrace really spoil us, the kids love it a lots, seems like this villa has spent quite a lot to maintain their garden, pool and also building, its just perfect! I have no doubt to recommend Sawah Indah to couple or family with kids, its simply beautiful!

Room Tip: Family Room next to pool would be ideal for travelers with children

Sawah Inda was the highlight of our Bali journey. It is simply amazing. We stayed in that lovely hotel for 4 days and we loved it from the very beginning. The staff is really friendly and takes care of everything. The rooms are very spacious, clean and all of them offer a scenic view on the rice fields. The food is recommendable, so that we enjoyed dinner almost every evening at Sawah Indah Villa.
Please keep in mind, that there is no infrastructure around this Hotel. Only a small place to buy drinks and some food, other than that you won't find any touristic facilities. We enjoyed a private rice field tour and the guide was very nice.

There is only one negative comment about this hotel:
We accepted the offer to get tickets for Gili Islands transfer (Boat & Taxi). Please do not use this service from the hotel. The boat agency was one of the worst in Padang Bai and the price for boat & taxi service was way to high. You'll find better and cheaper options either in Padang Bai directly or nearby the Hotel in a tourism agency. We have been really disappointed.

Other than that, this is a perfect Hotel to stay in Bali.

If there's a more beautiful spot than this I'd like to see it! Set amongst the rice fields in a beautiful valley just outside Sideman, this property is utterly beautiful. The countryside is magnificent, and there is lots to see in the area. Service is exceptional at all times, and each room is unique, with lots of antiques in the room. The infinity pool is superb. The food, as with most food in Bali is a little substandard, but this has not stopped me awarding five stars for this excellent boutique property.
