We stayed at the Amertha Bali Villas for 3 days while on our honeymoon & found it to be brilliant. Before reaching the hotel, i had written to the staff telling them that we'll be visiting for our honeymoon & they ensured that everything was downright great. From finding flower decorations on the bed each time they'd set up the room to how polite the staff was, everything was what i'd hoped for. The restaurant has slightly limited menu but its planned efficiently & priced affordably. You gotta remember that Bali faces high temperatures through most parts of the year & some days are BLAZING HOT. Considering that, the hotel maintains its lawns nicely. We especially enjoyed walks on the black sand beaches at night after lights out ;) only since the beaches were dead quite unlike the bothersome beaches in other parts of Bali. Remember to carry mosquito repellant if you dont want to be bothered. The pool facing our villa was extremely chlorinated & resulted in eyesores but the manager was apologetic & showed immense concern by ordering meds even late at night. There are some improvements that one may expect but nothing takes away from all the wonderful things that the resort has to offer. Do not visit Pemuteran expecting activities like in other parts of Bali. Its a place where you get to unwind, snorkel, dive & soak in the landscapes. Being away from the bustle of south bali, Pemuteran is a must visit, especially the menjangan island. Though we snorkelled on the beach off the resort as well but the snorkelling in menjangan was uncomparable. We hired the guys right next door to the resort & they were good! There are stores next to Amertha which have all that one may need, from medicines to food & Bintang :-) Incase you're heading into Pemuteran from Bali itself, do stop at the strawberry farms & coffee plantations on route. They're wonderful. Again, remember Pemuteran isnt about a whole long list of activities one can get in during the course of stay but the quality of whatever the place has to offer. You may also consider resorts closer to the Bali National Park (Mimpi, Waka Shorea).

Room Tip: Ocean facing villas have great open views. Prefer leaving the Aircon on even when you're not in since otherwise you'll find them unbearably hot on return

We arrived in Pemuteran late at night riding our motorbike. We hadn't planned on staying here but I'd been driving for 5 hours straight and didn't feel like driving any more. We visited a couple hotels before visiting the Amertha - the first one was over-priced and the second was dirty. Luckily, we still had the energy to visit one more and what a pleasant surprise this was!

The villas at the Amertha are gorgeous! The room itself is very large with a wonderful clean bed and a romantic outdoor bathroom. Rooms all have safety deposit boxes and mini-bars. Our room also had a large terrace and a gazebo. We shared a large garden and pool with two other villas, but we only saw our neighbors once (briefly).

The staff is very friendly. The spa is ok (not great). Avoid having a massage early evening unless you enjoy having your blood sucked out by mosquitoes.

Inconvenience: Our room was near the road so it was a little noisy but it was still great!!! The price is high as there is little competition in this area.

Room Tip: "Avoid the spa in the evening." "Have a great time. This is a good adress!" "Have breakfast served at your villa" "Stay at least two nights to have time to enjoy the place"

We stayed at Amertha Bali Villas during the final 4 nights of our honeymoon. Although it is a scary 3,5 hour drive from the airport to the resort it is well worth it!

Our villa (nr 7) was simply breathtaking! We spent most of the 4 days on the day bed next to our beautiful private pool reading a book and enjoying the privacy, seclusion and total relaxation we wanted for the final days of our honeymoon. The interior of the villa was perfect and exactly what we expected from a luxury accommodation in Bali: simple yet modern and clean. It had a beautiful outside shower as well. Every day our bed was made with beautiful flowers - this was a very nice romantic touch. During our stay we only ate at the resort's restaurant which is almost on the beach. This meant magnificent views every morning for breakfast and every evening for dinner. Every day we ordered room service for lunch, at a very small additional charge, and this was promptly served on the outside kitchen/dining area of our villa. After an hour or so the dirty dishes were collected without intruding on our privacy. The food is delicious and very affordable, The menu offers both Indonesian and Western-style dishes. The room was cleaned while we were at breakfast which meant we could continue our day without interruption.

The grounds of Amertha Bali Villas feature beautiful lush gardens and surroundings. The staff is super friendly and very helpful! We also made use of the spa facilities which we booked on the day itself or a day in advance. The spa treatments we received (full body massage and a facial) were very relaxing and professionally executed. Walking around the resort we had the impression that our villa (nr 7) offered the most privacy of all the villa's as the pool was out of view, it was not on the main walkways to the restaurant, beach, spa or reception and it still had some sea views as well even though it is not located on the beach! Plus there is a private lounge/day bed located on a special patio above the kitchen/dining area. We would definitely recommend nr 7 for honeymooners.

Although we saw no need to leave the resort there are quite a few tourist day acitivities in the area such as snorkling and visiting the nearby hindu temples.

Highlights of our stay at Amertha:
- breathtaking villa with private pool located in beautiful lush garden and stunning beach and mountain backdrop
- privacy
- super friendly and professional staff
- food is delicious and good value for money
- beautiful restaurant on the beach
- located in the north-west which means more secluded and less tourists than other parts of Bali

Less enthusiastic about the long (scary) drive from the airport and many mosquitoes. Definitely do not forget the insect repellent.

Room Tip: Villa 7 for more privacy and different types of outside spaces to enjoy the views and lush surrounding

Amazing villas with beautiful furniture and amenities, stunning back drop and only a few minutes walk to the water. We were thrilled with our villa. private back area if you want no body around.... lovely pools connected with each villa. Day beds, sunbeds, just delightful.
really a fabulous escape and great little restuarants on the beach or on the road...depending what you feel like. There is a little warung / supermakret next to Amertha to buy provisions ie teas, coffees and milk for your stay. They have a big tank of drinking water which is thoughtful. we loved it!!

note-
The pool is not totally private as there are often gardeners pottering around but you feel it is yours once the gardeners depart at 5 pm.

Room Tip: Chat to reception or booking office as some kitchen areas have toasters etc, others just the kettle ...each villa has different equipment as they seem to be owned independently.
