We spent 6 nights at this resort with 2 standard rooms. Overall, the resort is simply fantastic. It is about 25 minutes drive from Ubud and set in the middle of a forest, surrounded by rain forest and a rice field. It labels itself an an art hotel, so you will find plenty of arts on the hotel ground.
The rooms were of high international standard, but otherwise not spectacular. The resort, however, is simply impressive – the whole area is so huge and nicely laid out – hard to describe.
Staff have been exceptional in every way.
This place is great if you are looking for a unique tranquil setting in the middle of nature with high levels of service. For food, we always stayed at the resort and found both the selection and quality of the food consistently outstanding.
Overall, a fantastic experience.

The room was a good size. The shampoo and body wash provided was pretty low quality. The couch had a pretty nasty looking stain on it.
Beautiful view of the valley . Hotel has some beautiful art and decorations throughout.

Room tip: More attention to detail with the bathroom

Extremely lush green property ! With acres is foresty valley all around you, it’s just the green views that you get !!!
Be it chilling in the pool, the restaurant or at our secret spot - the beds by the spa, it’s just amazing. Especially on the beds by the spa, it’s just heaven - if peace and tranquility in between the greens, is what you are looking for. You just hear the sounds of the chirping birds and that of the ayung river flowing !
It’s a bit secluded from the main city (but all such properties are a bit farther off) so it helps to have your own ride, wherein you are not dependant and can take off at your convenience !
What I didn’t like was the gaudiness of all the overpowering artifacts and sculptures thrown in at the reception and some places, as the reception area is the first impression you get and the overly done, forced huge artifacts just kill the vibe ! A little taste could have helped :p
But once you get inside, it is pretty ignorable, as you get lost in between the greens, as that makes it up for all !

I really enjoyed staying at Ayung resort. The view from the restaurant is amazing!
The staff were excellent in every way.
The food in the restaurant was superb and presentation was equally good. We used the spa which I will highly recommend. The setting is so idyllic

This report is absolutely jaw dropping, from the amazing accomodation to the breathtaking views. The staff could not be happier and will go out of there way to help (we had a few awkward requests that they did not hesitate to help with). They also put on complimentary shuttle to and from Ubud, free massage and free rice paddy walk. All the rooms overlook the Ayung river with a fantastic view of the forest. The pool is spectacular and has the same jaw dropping views. This place is a must if you are in Ubud.
