Had a great time staying at the Ayung for two nights, We had the best breakfast we have ever had here! We also dined at the restaurant for one evening, we were given free desserts due to our main meals taking so long to be served (this was said to us by the staff, we hadnt realised that they had!) People complain that the location is not great but paying £5-£7.50 to return to the resort is not something to moan about as this resort really is a tremendous place to stay. Will definitely be staying here if i ever return to Ubud.

Where to start? Location: in the jungle overlooking the Ayung river. We stayed in a villa overlooking the jungle and river. Unbelievable! 3000 square feet of hand carved multi generation teak with its own infinity pool and wrap around patio. The Summum of luxury. A bottle of champagne and appetizers waiting for us. Staff: a resort where all the staff is happy and smiling. Best service ever received. The restaurant: one word: wow! They will be lucky if they can keep this young chef. Best meals we had in our round the world trip. If in Ubud no need to look further for best restaurants.

It was our first trip to Bali. The entire trip was a unique and eye-opening experience. The Ayung Resort was the most unique hotel among the four hotels we stayed in Bali. The hotel is by the Ayung River and surrounded by woods, very quiet, walking distance from the rafting place Sobek. We were very impressed by the warm welcome of the hotel staff and the welcoming Indonesian cakes upon our check-in. The breakfast, included in the room rate, in the restaurant was a la carte, absolutely amazing and royal. More impressive was the restaurant manager Mr. Merta and his service team. Their professionalism, attentiveness and sincerity were unparalleled! On the day of our departure, when we finished breakfast and started to walk out, a staff came to me insisting to refund my son’s breakfast cost because he did not really eat anything. So only a juice was charged for my son. It's not about the money! The free yoga class offered at 7:30 am and the spa were pleasant and invigorating. We were usually not very used to being treated so nicely, but when we got used to it, we were moving to our next hotel. We found it a challenge to adjust back to a normal hotel, thought the next one was also good. On the location, it's a bit far from the Ubud centre. But as taxis there aren't so expensive compared with other parts of the world, I think it's fine. A good place to enjoy the serenity of mountains and relax.

Room Tip: Next time we might like to try the villa with a private pool.

We finished our holiday in Bali with 4 nights at the wonderful Ayung Resort and were so glad we did. Thankfully I chose this resort after reading such glowing reviews on tripadvisor and we were very happy we did. The lovely staff were fantastic and the food was incredible. We loved the amazing breakfasts on the balcony of the restaurant with a view across the jungle and way down to the Ayung River. Beautiful. We enjoyed the morning yoga, complimentary afternoon tea, buggy rides around the resort and our luxury facial and massage at the relaxing spa. The complimentary mini bar and coffee machine in the room was a bonus and the late meal we ordered through room service was excellent. Dinner in the restaurant is a must as the food, service, atmosphere and sheer beauty of the place was so romantic, especially with the piano player on the Sunday night. Seeing so many incredible carvings, statues and artifacts together with a few monkeys in the trees and on the walls we were reminded of an Indiana Jones movie. Only better. Thankyou for a perfect stay.

Room Tip: We had room 105 which was excellent. It overlooked the pool and jungle and was an easy stroll to re...

Overall an excellent resort which we highly recommend for a romantic gateaway. Very good restaurant and overall service. If we had to add something negative (in an otherwise excellent expereience), one night we requested a thermometer which the resort (oddly) did not have. The distance from the center is about 30mins by car,

Room Tip: We stayed in "Drupadi" villa. It offers excellent view of the jungle in front and complete...

Best location to experience Ubud's amazing nature. Villas spacious with a balcony overlooking an amazing jungle! Service was exquisite and the food was lovely. Only comment was that we would have wished the water in the villa's swimming pool would have been warmer.

Room Tip: All rooms were very nice.

This is the most beautiful place. Champagne and lovely selection of savouries on arrival. Private pool, complementary high tea. Fantastic staff and service. Food is superb also. My wife and I would like to retire here, got to be cheaper than a nursing home in the uk!

I've fallen in love with this place!

Thank you ayung resort!
