“Great End to our Honeymoon”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

We had a great experience for the most part the Ayung Resort. We rented a one bedroom villa with a living room which was absolutely gorgeous. We were overlooking the Ayung River and literally felt like we were in the middle of the jungle. The staff at the hotel especially the restaurant were amazingly kind and all learned our names within a day.
We were disappointed by the spa. I received a traditional Balinese massage and a hair treatment and my husband received a pedicure. The girl that did my massage really did not seem to have much experience although she was very friendly. I ended up being in pain for the next week because she hurt my back. Also the hair treatment was a joke. The young girl, again very nice has no clue what she was doing. My husband was supposed to get a 75 minute pedicure which ended after 60 minutes. All of this was very disappointed especially since we were paying a lot of money for the treatments (total for these treatments was $240 USD).
We would probably stay here again but avoid the spa. The food at the resaturant was amazing, especially the breakfast.

Heavenly resort. Peaceful and serene. Make sure and spend time exploring the resort itself and enjoying the beautiful stone carvings. The travel into ubud is a bit of a hassle but definitely worth it. We stayed in the lower priced room blocks (Latswana) and loved the convenient location. I'd recommend the top floor. The pool was mostly empty and pool service was great. Ice water and cold towels. Be sure and order a pizza from the wood fired grill by the pool for lunch one day. Staff and service were excellent.

Room Tip: Top floor is best as you can hear it if people walk above you. They also give a nicer view of the ju...

Words cannot express how much we enjoyed this hotel. The service we received was out of this world on our three night stay. The staff knew our first names by the end of the first day. Everyone greets you with a very genuine smile and will exceed your every expectation.

The spa services were outstanding and the atmosphere truly serene. The restaurant was incredible and we enjoyed every meal we had. The breakfast menu was out of this world! Everything was outstanding and memorable.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone in a heartbeat and will stay here again if we return to Ubud.

Stunning location, incredible staff, beautiful food and excellent bed in affordable luxury. It is 20-30 minutes out of UBUD, but we had just spent 5 days in town so not a big deal. We hired a scooter in town and had it at the resort just in case the meals and activities weren't quite as reported but this proved unnecessary. We were upgraded to Sita wing, which is a 2 min golf cart ride down from the main areas of the restaurant and main foyer. I had emailed 3 days prior to see if we could have as private and as high a room as possible and was offered the upgrade. It is a massive room with free coffee machine and mini bar overlooking the river and forest. Even monkeys playing a tree 20 metres from the room a couple of times. The sound of the river was magnificent. And the sun on the forest trees was beautiful. An enormous pool with very comfortable lounge chairs and pool side service were just below our room.

This wing along with the rest of the resort is beautiful. Amazing art work and architecture were everywhere. The service is the best I've experienced. Super friendly, knowledgable and unobtrusive. Heaps of little free extras offered, like the morning yoga, afternoon tea/coffee and posh snacks.

We ate breakfast(free) best ever, and dinner at hotel restaurant and loved the experience. The view across the forest and rice paddies was amazing food and presentation incredible.

We have spent 7 days in Seminyak and 5 in UBUD. In hindsight I would have spent 2 in each of those and 10 at Ayung. Our most relaxing and invigorating experience. Certainly worth the trip to bali just to spend time here.

We recently spent 3 days at the Ayung Resort and it was amazing. The resort itself is like something we had never seen before. The artwork is both breathtaking and a little over the top but intriguing. We stayed in the Sita wing and the rooms are much more than expected for the very reasonable price. The villas looked lovely and were tucked away into different parts of the jungle like environment. But what stood out the most was the service from the most beautiful staff. They were all so happy and very accommodating. We left and realised we had left our phone chargers and adapters behind. I phoned the resort and they organised to have them delivered to our hotel in Kuta and this was a 3 hour round trip for someone. Very impressed
and very grateful.
Only negative was that it was very wet when we were there and the resort is at least 30 mins from town so a little restrictive finding things to do when raining so much.

Wow!!!! Amazing views in the morning having breakfast and dinner at their restaurant. The wait staff service was one of the best I ever had and I travel a lot for both business and vacation. The resort was a little ways outside Denspar where I flew into, but well worth it. Their basic room was okay, nothing fancy at all; however the service and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The resort is not too far from Ubud city center where I highly suggest visiting Monkey Sanctuary (park). There is over 600 monkeys roaming freely and they are very interactive with the visitors.

Excellent breakfast, excellent services, excellent resort atmosphere, unfortunately average room.
We had a hard time finding clean bed sheet the night we checked in. Bathroom should be much better for this price. Again, really, really good services from the staff.

Room Tip: Maybe try the villa. Looks good from outside.
