My wife and I spent the first five days of our honeymoon here. The setting the Hotel is in is spectacular with Jungle views in all directions. A very tranquil location away from the busy village of Ubud but within easy distance for the Hotel shuttle or a taxi. Staff are all very friendly and attentive. Food and hospitality are also very good. Would recommend.

The stay was wonderful overall. We were very fortunately upgraded to a villa, for which the management is owed much thanks. The service standards were impeccable. The villa is extremely spacious and well appointed. There was really only one slight problem with the villa itself, which was that the shower facility was a bit defective. The shower comprises both a rain shower and a handheld shower head and a switch is supposed to allow the user to switch between the two. Unfortunately, for some reason, the switch only worked partially so we had to choose between the rain shower alone or the rain shower together with the handheld shower head. In short, you could not turn the rain shower off if you wanted to use the shower, which essentially meant you could not avoid washing your head. The problem was reported on day 2 of our 3 night stay but it was not repaired (probably because it could not be done on short notice). The bigger problem is an incident with a group of monkeys. Now, monkeys are to be expected in Ubud and in and of themselves are not a problem. However, we were warned not to leave food outside the room on the terrace as this would unnecessarily attract them. On our last day at the villa, as we were about to step out for breakfast, we were confronted by a group of about 10 monkeys, which behaved in a very fierce and protective fashion, essentially trapping us in our villa until the hotel security came to disperse them. It was then that I noticed that someone had left a plate of fruits just outside the terrace which must have attracted the monkeys. The plate had seeds on it and a piece of skin lay on the floor. That incident marred an otherwise perfect stay (the shower problem was really not a big issue at all and certainly one we had no right to complain about since we didn't even book a villa to begin with).

Having just completed 9 days backpacking it was THE place to stay to relax and unwind.
Not cheap but you get what you pay for. My boyfriend and I stayed in a superior room for 3 nights. The room was perfectly sized, following Balinese style it was dark inside. We found it a little difficult to find clothes and put on make up because of this with some interesting results!
All staff go above and beyond.
We ate in both dining rooms. The ingredients come from their gardens and they offer an a la carte tasting menu which is sublime.
The grounds are pristine and generally kept free of bugs by means of 'fogging', although it didn't stop the monkeys coming to visit on our balcony! The infinity pool was clean and without too many chemicals making it a real pleasure to swim in.
Conceirge service were also excellent with a whole host of facilities on offer.

We stayed at Alisa Ubuntu for 4 nights in October and had a great time. The staff were without exception extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The food, room and facilities were outstanding and the situation of the hotel, on a hill overlooking a valley was beautiful. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel as a relaxing and sophisticated place to stay in Ubud.

My partner and I stayed at Alila Ubud to attend a friend's wedding held there. The wedding ceremony started at 4pm and it was, hot! Thank goodness fans were provided, but it would have been more pleasant if the ceremony could be scheduled an hour later. Nonetheless, the ceremony was pretty and lived up to expectations.

The wedding dinner by the pool looked stunning, not forgetting that the pool is beautiful as it is! The food was great and the service was prompt. One annoying factor to some of us who aren't used to the natural outdoor setup was - the bugs! The lights attracted a number of them, of which didn't cause us any harm, but minor distraction.

The deluxe room was basic and slightly old, but well maintained. The very few hotels I've visited with semi-outdoor bath tub and shower. Interesting layout.

The breakfast spread was great! The variety of juices and local dishes appealed the most to us, and we loved how they came in small portions, which allowed us to savour the extensive spread, without gorging ourselves mad.

All in all, it was a memorable event and a pleasant stay.
