“Stunning place to relax”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

Have just come back after a visit in August stayed for eight days. Located up in the mountains, in the middle of the national park, with spectacular views over paddy fields and the forest down to the ocean and Java in the distance. The Java coastline lights put on a nice show at night. The views from the dining room area and the infinity pool were stunning. This is a beautiful hotel, with rooms that are huge and well furnished. Our room was serviced each night while we were at dinner. The staff were courteous, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. This is definitely a hotel for those who want to get away and find some peace and quiet to relax. I was ill with a nasty fever when we arrived and spent two days in bed. The manager arranged for me to be taken to a doctor who checked me out, including blood tests. Back the next day to collect the results, all clear. Could not fault the service at the clinic and the hotel staff were marvellous. Could not thank them enough. We will definitely return next year.

Room Tip: Loved the views West over the paddy fields.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights in August. The view and location are really beautiful and our first impression was very positive. That is until we got to our room. We booked a courtyard room and on first entering the room all appeared good if a bit hot. We thought they must have just turned on the air con so the room was still hot but on closer inspection there was no air con controller to try and set the air con to a cooler settiing. We went to call reception but there was no phone on the desk. When I went to put a bottle of water in the bar fridge there was no bar fridge in the place where the bar fridge should be. My husband went to sit at the desk and the chair he sat in was broken. My husband then had to walk to receiption to report the problems and ask for some-one to come and look at the air con. About 5 minutes later a maintenance man came in and pointed a controller at the air con and tried to turn the thermostate lower. When I asked him to leave the controller he said no he could not leave the controller. As this point the air con did not appear to be getting cooler. It was at that point that my husband came back and said they were moving us to a different room. We were given an upgrade to a terrace room. The view was beautiful and the air con seemed to be working. One evening we decided to have a drink on the terrace and the balcony moved as you walked on it and did not appear that safe, also some of the wooden battens were missing and when we looked over the balcony the missing wooden battens were on the terrace of the room below. There we also many cables hanging out of the walls and could be a problem is you have small children. Also on our last night the power went out and when it came back on the air con in our room did not work at all. They came to fix it but told us they could not fix it and offered to move us to a twin room but at this stage it was 10.00pm at night and we decided to just stay in the room. The food at the restaurant was ok, I know you are out in the middle of no-where and that the prices are going to be higher than in Kuta or Seminyak but honestly the food was very average for the prices they charged. This resort could be so good but the resort manager may try to make guests happy but she really needs to spend time on training her staff and taking care of the maintenance issues at the resort. The staff are lovely and try really hard but they lack training. Not once during three evening meals did the salt and pepper get brought to our table even after asking numerous times. This should be automatic but it looked like they may have had only one salt and pepper set. I know most Indonsians don't require salt and pepper with their meals but this resort is aiming for the European market. To be honest I was surprized by the reviews here after I had experienced this resort myself. Yes, the staff try hard, the countryside is lovely, it is quiet and remote but this can not really make up for the above issues I have mentioned. My rule of thumb on my reviews is to be honest and ask myself would I recommend this to family and friends. My answer is a definate no. If you want to experience the national park and have the most amazing snorkelling experience in a similar environment go to The Mejangan Resort on the other side of the National Park.

We spend 4 days of luxurious relaxation in an amazing environment! View and nature are amazing, so are the rooms , spacious and lovely terrasse! Staff is amazingly charming and welcoming. Food is okay, but could be improved. There are not many good restaurants in the area ( even mimpi resort food was not good enough ) Anyway, best place ever on West Bali, wich is one of the rare unspoiled places on Bali!

Room Tip: Ask for a suite on the lagoon!

After a busy day visiting temples on the west of Bali we finally found this oasis of peace and
quiet in the middle of the national park. The hotel is near the Catholic church in Palasari , I specify that as nobody appeared to know this hotel. Our room was huge and with a spectacular view
over rice fields and the forest, the view from the dining room and the swimming pool was equally
stunning. We stayed for two nights and left with regret. The massage was excellent. As much of
Bali is being ruined by mass tourism this is a hotel for those who want to get away from it all and
experience peace , quiet and nature.

BEAUTIFUL hotel. Very big and very quiet. The rooms are spread all over the place where you have a nice experience even just to get in there. The room was in half circular shape. Beautiful and romantic with a spectacular mountain view in the middle of paddy field.

The cool breeze were just perfect to accompany you had a nap or read your book by the pool.

It was near the beautiful catholic church not so far from the hotel and you can see the blue king fishers on the way.

It was a breathtaking experience.

Taman Wana offers more than accommodation, it offers a unique experience and excellent service. We've stayed there for one night only during Bali round trip but wish it could be longer. The best would be to stay for 2-3 nights at least, or even longer if you looking for perfect escape. Village tour is gorgeous where we were passing Hindu, Muslim, Catholic and Protestant areas - all just next to each other. Rooms are clean, bed is comfortable, food is great, service is excellent. No doubt to stay there again whenever possible, so as recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Lake View is great but Rice Terrace Views are good too.
