We stayed here recently after reading reviews but were disappointed. The people who ran the place were lovely the room was very clean but nothing special. The food was nice and wholesome but lacked in spices and zing. But what was most disappointing was the fact that we felt like we were in the middle of a construction site. From our downstairs room we could see nothing but construction which was such a shame as the views from upstairs were spectacular.

Room Tip: If you can't get an upstairs room look elsewhere.

Couldn't fault this gorgeous homestay. Room was exceptionally clean and bed was super comfy. Staff were genuinely helpful and friendly and one in particular made us smile everytime we saw him. We had the top floor side room (we specifically requested this) and the views were breathtaking. Windows around the whole room made it possible to lay in bed and take in the sights. The homestay was centrally located in Munduk and everything was within walking distance. The included breakfast had a variety of choices and was delicious and very generously sized. The restaurant offered a great variety of Balinese dishes and was a great place to sit and take in the views. Food was delicious and they certainly weren't stingy with the portions - super cheap to. We had 3 lunches and dinners (didn't bother going anywhere else because the food was so good) and the total bill including drinks and dessert came to less than 60 dollars for our whole stay. Wifi worked well which surprised us being in the isolated Munduk area. Room didn't have air con but this wasn't needed due to the much cooler temperatures than the rest of Bali - there was a good fan in the room. Staff were so sweet and helpful but weren't over the top. The owners little Pomeranian Micky was adorable and we couldn't help patting him everytime we were in the reception area. Absolutely loved this place and would go as far as saying it was perfect - if only we had booked more than 3 nights.

We also expected the place to be overrated in the books, yet were surprised in a positive sense. After the heat and humidity of Denpasar and Ubud, Munduk is cooler, yet surrounded by lush, dense rain forest, some rice paddies and coffee and clove plantations. Aditya Home Stay is not easy to find (South of the village, turn right from the main road into small Jl.Pura Puseh and find Aditya after 100m.) The 2-story building opened in 2011 (and another under construction right next to it), the rooms are nicely furnished, comfortable and clean with ventilator, Shower and toilet (AC is not necessary in this climate) and huge windows with a breathtaking view over the valley and mountains up to the sea on clear days. The hostess and her family are like old friends, sweet and utterly charming, friendly and helpful. The dishes prepared by the hostess are delicious and value for money is outstanding. What an outstanding experience! And I had a great traditional healing massage from a therapist friend of the family that the hostess arranged for me. Just ask about it! Doris & Ernst, Switzerland

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have a fantastic view and small balcony

This is the perfect place to stay if you like to check out the Mountains of Bali. The place is quite new so everything is in top order. The rooms are beautiful, light, romantic, spacious, clean and super good value at only 16 € a night. The owner/operators and staff were the most friendly and service oriented we have met so far in Bali (if I could I would have given them 6 stars for service). They really seemed to love the area they live in and sharing their knowledge about the area and telling all about how it used to be and the farming in the area and so on, which was very interesting. They also supplied us with a free map of walking routes in the area so we could explorer the Mountainsides, Waterfalls and Rice fields which are stunning. Breakfast was yummy and their restaurant also really good quality and amazingly cheap. Overall it was a fantastic Homestay and we had absolutely nothing to complain about.

I had read all of the previous reviews and was a bit skeptical of the glowing recommendations when we arrived at Aditya, and was absolutely blown away.

The family is the kindest, most attentive, sweetest group of people we met during our whole time wandering around Bali, and were genuinely helpful with everything they tried to do. Just so gracious.

The food, like those who have written before us, was outstanding. So carefully made from scratch every time you order, each dish was fresh and clean and outstanding. I particularly appreciated the black rice pudding desert, which is famous and special in Bali. We had tried it in a few places and didn't appreciate what all the fuss was about until we tried it here. They warned us it would take an hour to make but we didn't mind waiting, and it was worth it! The strawberry juice made from the strawberries that Munduk is known for was also ridiculous, and even the standard mie goreng just tasted much better here...

As for the rooms, the value here was also outstanding. We paid 250k rupiah, for a mountain valley view and level of bed quality and linen we hadn't seen in places charging 800k+. I could not recommend Aditya Homestay more, we wish we'd had more time to stay!

It doesn't get much better than this. Very nice and clean room with beautiful views over the countryside (we were on the top floor on the best side though), super friendly family running the place adding a very personal feel to it which is not so common in Bali anymore. And the food is outstanding as well. Even their welcoming cocktail is an absolute treat. You dine on a big terrace with a beautiful view of the countryside around and below. We usually always try out restaurants when we arrive in a new town but this place was so great we couldn't eat anywhere else! We would highly recommend it.
Thank you so much for our stay so perfect and we wish you the greatest success with Aditya Home Stay! Philippine and Renaud

We didnt actually stay at this homestay, since it was newly open and we didnt know about it until one day passed by when we were caught in heavy rain during trekking around in Munduk. We ordered some food for lunch and waited for the rain to stop. The food was so delicious and very cheap! I still miss the fried toufu stuffed with vegetables haha! The view from the homestay was fantastic even it was so foggy in the rain. I started to get interested about the rooms and the owner was very kind to let us to have a look around upstairs. The rooms were newly decorated , looked very clean and tidy, view from the balcony outside of the room was even more breathtaking. Will definitely stay there when go to Munduk next year!
