My wife and I ate here for lunch on a tuesday afternoon. The decor is nice, with an interesting wall hanging made of old paint cans. I am not sure what that has to do with Mexican food, but it was nice all the same. We were surprised by the small menu and simple pricing structure. Our waitress told us the special of the day was the loaded nachos, so we each ordered that. The food came soon after and we were pleased to see it was quite a bit. The service was VERY good and the food was excellent. If you have been to another KC area eatery called Taco Factory, El Pico will put you in mind of that, just greatly simplified. The choice of chicken/steak/beef with all entrees, which then determins the price, is a nice idea and we appreciated the simplicity of the menu. The food itself was not simple. The nachos we got had 3 different cheeses (2 grated and 1 liquid), pico de gallo, refried beans, meat, sour cream and guacamole. It was a large portion and well layed out so that there were not a lot of chips without something on them. The free chips and salsa that you get when you sit down are also good, not spicy but with a slight kick.
