Anyone coming to the Independence or Greater Kansas City area should visit the Truman Library and Museum. It has great exhibits that change often as well as excellent interactive and well done permanent exhibits. For scholars, all of Harry S. Truman's papers, speeches, and documents are available. The library has lectures, special programs and seasonal events. It's an excellent way to spend a day. It's close to the Independence Square where several excellent restaurants are as well as Clinton's ice cream parlor--ice cream sundaes, malts and floats done the old way along with hot roasted nuts, and candy favorites. There is shopping and a great Farmer's Market in season.
